"Promoted to the Zero Squad? Excuse me, but if I may be so blunt, why not choose from among the Gotei 13, instead of picking a human?"

Kyōraku's words shattered Ōetsu Nimaiya Yue's plan to smooth things over, and he also seemed intent on clarifying the issue further.

"Furthermore, if it's a promotion, why are we being asked to arrest Ichigo Kurosaki?"
