Uryū's Revenge
"You, stand up." Uryū pointed his Spirit Bow at the Bleach cowering in the corner and said coldly.
The man looked up, his expression a mixture of confusion and fear. The moment he saw the Spirit Bow, he crouched down, covering his head in fear, completely avoiding Uryū's gaze. "I'm sorry, I was just passing by, I didn't see anything."
Hearing the other person's trembling voice and seeing his dejected face, Uryū naturally assumed that this guy was a natural punching bag and didn't seem like someone who could join a combat squad like the Squad 11.
Uryū sheathed his weapon and said to the man, "I won't hurt you. Stand up and speak. What's your name?"
Sensing that Uryū seemed to have no ill intentions, the other party slowly stood up and said, "I am Hanatarō Yamada from the Fourth Division. I was walking down the street when I got caught up in this."
Hanatarō didn't know how to explain it. He was walking along the road when suddenly a group of Squad 11 guys appeared. With Hanatarō's weak body, how could he possibly squeeze through the crowd? Naturally, he was taken along by the team chasing Uryū.
Uryū glanced at the Squad 11 members lying on the ground yelling and said to Hanatarō, "This isn't the place to talk. Come with me."
Hanatarō hesitated for a moment before glancing at the injured members of the Squad 11. Despite their rudeness towards him, as a member of the Fourth Division, Hanatarō wondered if he should offer them some assistance.
"Don't worry, they're just superficial wounds. They'll be able to treat their injuries themselves once the arrows disappear." Uryū saw through Hanatarō's thoughts. If Hanatarō were to save the people now, wouldn't all of Uryū's previous efforts be in vain?
As a member of the Fourth Division, Hanatarō could naturally tell that none of the people were seriously injured. Under Uryū's repeated urging, Hanatarō followed after them.
After turning two corners and no longer hearing the shouts of the Squad 11, Uryū said to Hanatarō, "My name is Ishida Uryū, and I am the ' Ryoka' that you Bleach speak of."
Hanatarō trembled slightly in fright. He hadn't expected Uryū to be so direct, revealing his identity right away. Hoping Uryū wouldn't harm him, he replied in a trembling voice, "I... I know..."
"You're from the Fourth Division, you should know the way, right? How do I get to the Squad 12? Take me there," Uryū said.
"What are you going to the Squad 12 for? Ah, it's okay if you don't want to say." Realizing that his question was a bit inappropriate, Hanatarō quickly added.
"Go and take care of some personal matters. Take me to the vicinity of the Squad 12, and you can leave," Uryū said.
"Huh? Can I refuse?" Hanatarō asked somewhat timidly, not wanting anyone to get hurt because of him.
"It's alright, I'll just find another one." Uryū indicated that there were plenty of alternatives in the next alley. He raised his shortbow and pointed it at Hanatarō. "However, you'll have to suffer a bit."
Uryū couldn't let Hanatarō, who knew his target, leave immediately. If Hanatarō refused, he would have no choice but to pin Hanatarō to the ground, just like he did with the people in the Squad 11.
"I'm sorry, I promise you, it's just around the Squad 12, right?" Since he was usually the one being bullied, Hanatarō was used to being forced to do things. Under the intimidation of Tamamo-no-Mae, Hanatarō agreed to Uryū.
"Don't worry, I won't hurt anyone who isn't a victim," Uryū said. "If possible, please lead me along a less traveled route; I don't want to hurt anyone else."
Hearing Uryū's words, Hanatarō perked up a little. It seemed this guy named Ishida Uryū was a good person?
"I understand, but it's quite far from the Squad 12, so it will take some time to get there," Hanatarō said.
"It's alright, just lead the way," Uryū said.
Uryū had his own considerations. Before going to the Squad 12, he wanted to minimize his physical exertion. After all, not everyone is as physically gifted Ichigo, and it's always good to have fewer battles.
Led by Hanatarō, the two ventured into the Seireitei's sewers. Almost no one ever came here; they simply had to follow the sewer routes, making the journey less direct than on the surface.
After spending the entire night, Uryū finally arrived near the Squad 12. He planned to stake out the area, believing that the captain of the Squad 12 would surely appear somewhere nearby.
As for Hanatarō, Uryū kept his promise and let him leave. Hanatarō learned last night that Uryū was one of the members who came to rescue Rukia. Because of his feelings for Rukia when they were at the Sokyoku Hill, he promised Uryū that he would not reveal Uryū's whereabouts to anyone else.
On a rooftop outside the Squad 12, Uryū waited patiently. Kurotsuchi Mayuri's appearance was very easy to recognize, and he was confident that he wouldn't mistake him.
Finally, when the sun was high in the sky, Uryū finally met his target. Kurotsuchi Mayuri was leading a girl with braided hair toward the Squad 12; that was his Vice-Captain, Nemu Kurotsuchi.
Kurotsuchi Mayuri had just met with Ikkaku Madarame, who had been defeated by Tsuna, and Yumichika Ayasegawa, hoping to get some information about the Ryoka from them. However, these muscle-bound guys obviously wouldn't tell Kurotsuchi Mayuri anything, and he had to return Kurotsuchi Mayuri gaining nothing.
Looking at the two people not far away, Uryū remembered Urahara Kisuke's warning: part of Kurotsuchi Mayuri's strength was the result of his research, which meant that Kurotsuchi Mayuri's combat power within the Squad 12 was completely different from his power outside the Squad 12.
Therefore, Uryū had to intervene and prevent Kurotsuchi Mayuri from entering the Squad 12 and fighting him in the Technology Development Bureau, which is full of technological achievements.
With its Hirenkyaku, Uryū dashed towards Kurotsuchi Mayuri like a figure skater.
"Something's coming?" Kurotsuchi Mayuri, being a researcher, had a keen eye for his surroundings and immediately noticed Uryū's arrival.
Seeing Uryū blocking his path, Kurotsuchi Mayuri couldn't help but feel disappointed. "So it was someone else. It turns out the Seireitei's Ryoka is a Quincy. How boring."
Kurotsuchi Mayuri's face was full of boredom. He had originally been quite interested in these invaders of Seireitei, thinking that he was about to obtain a new test subject, which was why he had excitedly gone to find the injured Ikkaku Madarame after the captain's meeting.
After being turned down by them at Ikkaku, Kurotsuchi Mayuri's interest remained undiminished. Unable to get help, he decided to go back and use the equipment from the Technology Development Bureau to investigate the whereabouts of the Ryoka.
The appearance of Uryū instantly dampened Kurotsuchi Mayuri Kurotsuchi's burning enthusiasm, as Quincy, as experimental subjects, no longer held any appeal for him.
"Since you know I'm Quincy, you must know why I've come, right?"
As Uryū spoke, he raised his arm, and the Quincy Cross slid off his arm, revealing the Reishi Bow Ginrei Kojaku, a weapon of equal stature to his, in Uryū's hand.
"Purpose? I'm not interested. Get out of the way, I have other projects to start, don't block my way!" Kurotsuchi Mayuri didn't care at all what Uryū was saying. The moment he discovered that the Ryoka was Quincy, he was ready to start his other experiments.
Hearing Kurotsuchi Mayuri Kurotsuchi's nonchalant tone, Uryū immediately flew into a rage, "Sōken Ishida, have you forgotten?!"
Uryū crushed a small bottle, and a large amount of Reishi concentrated on his fingers. He drew back the Ginrei Kojaku, and a huge Spirit Bow and Arrows was placed on the bow.
Uryū released his fingers, and a cluster of Reishi the size of a millstone hurtled toward Kurotsuchi Mayuri —the Silver Tornado Arrow!
The Spirit Bow and Arrows, imbued with immense spiritual pressure, finally caused Kurotsuchi Mayuri's expression to change. He pulled out a ring shaped like a human face and detonated it directly in front of him. The spiritual pressure generated by the explosion formed a temporary shield in front of them.
The silver tornado arrow struck the shield, but instead of breaking through Kurotsuchi Mayuri's shield, it propelled Kurotsuchi Mayuri and Nemu Kurotsuchi, who were maintaining the shield, two streets away.
Uryū had a clear plan: if he couldn't let Kurotsuchi Mayuri get close to the Squad 12, then he would create a spatial distance between Kurotsuchi Mayuri and the Squad 12.
The Silver Tornado Arrow is a technique that Uryū developed by imitating Tsuna's Crimson Dragon Vortex Arrow. However, because he has never mastered it and lacks the ability to decompose Storm Attribute flames, the Silver Tornado Arrow has always been only half-baked, possessing only propulsion capabilities but no destructive power.
Now, Uryū is using the propulsive power of the Silver Tornado Arrow to push Kurotsuchi Mayuri away from the Squad 12's range, minimizing Kurotsuchi Mayuri's power increase.
Seeing Uryū reappear before him, Kurotsuchi Mayuri Sōken Ishida piqued his interest.
"So you're a remnant of that material. It's a pity the Quincy research is over, so there's no point in you coming to me again," Kurotsuchi Mayuri said.
"Research materials, it really was you!" Uryū's eyes were filled with rage, and he was grinding his teeth to powder.
"That's right, it was I who stopped the Bleach from supporting Sōken Ishida. It's not easy to get these kinds of experimental materials legitimately. Thanks to him, I was able to complete the Quincy project."
Kurotsuchi Mayuri said matter-of-factly, there was nothing wrong with admitting it. In his view, everyone was only different in that they were either test subjects or unable to become test subjects. As for those who could not become test subjects, it was simply because Kurotsuchi Mayuri might not be able to defeat them.
"Shut up!"
The signature skill Hirenkyaku, erupted from Ginrei Kojaku, unleashing countless Reishi arrows that rained down upon Kurotsuchi Mayuri.
To Uryū's surprise, Kurotsuchi Mayuri, who already possessed defensive measures, simply called out "Nemu," and Kurotsuchi Mayuri's Vice-Captain immediately stepped in front of him. Nemu Kurotsuchi expressionlessly spread her arms, using her body as a barrier to shield Kurotsuchi Mayuri from Uryū's attack.
One after another, Reishi arrows were shot into Nemu's body. In no time, Nemu Kurotsuchi turned into a hedgehog covered in Reishi arrows. Despite feeling the pain, she still kept her arms outstretched.
Despite already knowing Kurotsuchi Mayuri's cruelty towards life, Uryū still didn't expect him to be so indifferent to the lives of those around him, especially Nemu Kurotsuchi's pained expression, which made Uryū abandon his continuous Rain of Hirenkyaku.
