Liu Xuan is Liu Xingyuan's daughter and Liu Li's older sister. Though both sisters held L-level research ranks at the Red Fruit Weapons Research Institute, Liu Xuan's family status gave her access to a central laboratory and authority far exceeding that of ordinary researchers.
