Background / History

The God Sect traces its rise to the God Lord, who gathered martial arts and battlefield tactics from across the Human Dao, refined them into the Body Domination Technique, and used it to train mortals and poorly qualified rogue cultivators into an army. This force once helped the Divine Cult dominate roughly one-third of the world 16.

The God Lord later established the God Sect organization, recruited followers, taught the Body Domination Technique, and developed the Ten Ultimate Formation for large-scale warfare against the Central Plains’ immortal armies 567. The God Lord is also credited with defeating the Beichen Sword Sect, seizing heavenly books from the Xuan Sect, founding the God Sect, and eventually ascending 298.

The sect was nearly destroyed after the Ten Absolute Divine Venerables failed to cooperate and suffered a severe defeat at the hands of the Beichen Sword Sect. The survivors united afterward, adopted the God Lord’s principle of accepting disciples regardless of origin, and rebuilt into a power capable of contending with the Xuan Sect and Immortal Palace 223.

A later God Lord’s Dao Integration reportedly killed half of the God Sect’s own population when its divine might spread outward. The resulting loss halted its campaign against the Twelve Central Plains kingdoms and contributed to the world’s tripartite balance of power 21.

The God Sect’s nominal leadership is the Ten Ultimate Venerables: the Sect Leader, Saintess, Four Dharma Kings, and Four Directions Enforcement Venerables 400. Beneath this formal unity are competing leadership interests; Dharma Kings and Altar Masters generally seek worldly power, while Venerables and Protectors prioritize cultivation and combat strength 400.

Leadership positions are elective rather than hereditary. To discourage permanent monopolization of power, elected senior leaders lose first-class merit at regular hundred-year intervals and must continue earning recognition to be re-elected 474.

The sect officially values merit over birth, origin, or species. It accepts barbarians, rogue cultivators, demon beasts, and other outsiders whom many Central Plains orthodox sects reject 108 223.

• Blood Shadow God Travel Great Technique — A blood-escape art taught to Dharma Protectors. It requires essence blood and skin-shedding; without the Blood Record Heavenly Book’s supporting arts, its energy cost is extreme 107.
• Blood God Child Great Law — A rapid and dangerous branch of the Blood Record inheritance. Blood God Children can survive physical destruction, hide within other Dao Bodies, and attempt possession 107 271.
• Blood Demon Great Path Body — A high-risk Dao Body that requires practitioners to cripple and rebuild their cultivation at breakthroughs, as well as merge with like-minded cultivators to strengthen their Nascent Soul 298.

Ten Ultimate Formation

The Ten Ultimate Formation is the God Sect’s large-scale battlefield formation system.

• It draws on spiritual veins and the spiritual energy of heaven and earth 567.
• Dozens or hundreds of cultivators can jointly deploy it to unleash area-wide destructive spells 567.
• Its use once allowed the God Sect to contest larger Central Plains armies despite the Western Regions’ smaller population 567.

The God Sect later crossed Kunlun, invaded the Central Plains, and destroyed Kun Country, establishing itself as a direct neighboring power to the southern cultivation factions 125. It also maintained local altars and divine guards in strategic northern cities, supporting allied defenders with Nascent Soul formations and Body Domination-trained troops 374.
