Upon their creation, Nüwa attained sainthood and issued a 100,000-year protection warning to the Primordial Wilderness, granting the race a stable period for early development 187 190.

During the height of the Wu-Demon conflict, the Demon Race infamously slaughtered humans to forge the Tuyu Sword in order to counter the Wu Clan's physical bodies, while the Wu Clan captured humans to breed "Human-Wu" hybrids for cannon fodder, causing heavy casualties and a drastic population decline 184 212 229. Despite these devastating trials, the Human Race secured the position of the predetermined Protagonist of Heaven and Earth through heavenly compensation and saintly backing, absorbing vast fortune and surviving the cataclysms 212.

Under the governance of the Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors—beginning with Fuxi, followed by Shennong, Xuanyuan, and Dayu—the human territory expanded, and the Nine Provinces and Nine Cauldrons were established 361 370 424.
