Background / History
Bei Ming was concerned from the outset with escaping the future fate associated with Kun Peng: coercion into the Demon Race and eventual obscurity. He prioritized cultivation, spiritual treasures, and dependable Dao companions as safeguards against that path. 1 3
In the North Sea, Mystic Turtle entrusted him with the Xuan Yuan Controlling Water Flag. The exchange formed a karmic bond, and Mystic Turtle's fortune subsequently aided Bei Ming's opportunities and rise. 3 86
After refining the flag, Bei Ming entered the Northern Continent and found its spiritual veins and lands polluted by Sha Qi from Fierce Beast corpses. He chose to restore the North despite the danger, both to earn merit and to secure the region's fortune. 4
He claimed Changbai Mountain after killing Ice Soul Daoist, established the Great Void Palace there, and protected the mountain without driving out its native creatures. 6 7 He then sought the Twelve Grade Pure World White Lotus from the Three Immortal Islands, acquiring the lotus, Three Lights Divine Water, island Boundary Tablets, and further treasures. 9 10 14
Bei Ming ultimately completed the North's revival by purifying its spiritual veins, removing the lingering Sha Qi, and receiving immense Heavenly Dao Merit. 72 80 81 Much later, he destroyed the Devil Realm, defeated Luo Hou, and used the Soul Demon God's refined origin to reshape the Western Spiritual Veins. 598 599
Following the Demon Calamity, Bei Ming entrusted the Literary Sect and many of his treasures to his eldest disciple Ling Yan. He then left the Primordial Wilderness to seek a new Dao path in Hundun, later agreeing with Yang Mei to investigate the place where Chaos Gods were gestated anew. 601 602
Appearance

- His robes are often described as moving in mountain winds or sea breezes. 7
- He can manifest the Returning Ruins Realm Phase as an invisible domain. 6

Personality
Bei Ming is calculating, patient, and highly strategic. He considers long-term consequences before acting, whether refining treasures, negotiating alliances, or planning cultivation breakthroughs. 9 10 78 80
He is not needlessly destructive: while traveling through the North, he collected spiritual materials without stripping the land, and after claiming Changbai Mountain, he allowed its native creatures to remain. 4 7 However, he is ruthless toward threats to his territory or plans, as shown by his complete destruction of Ice Soul Daoist. 6 7
His actions are often guided by responsibility toward the Primordial Wilderness. He undertook the restoration of the North and West, rallied the Ten Thousand Clans against the Devil Race, and ultimately chose to leave so the balance among the Saints would not collapse. 81 583 598 601
