Background

Aoba’s parents, both Konoha shinobi, died during the Second Shinobi World War when he was five. The forced extraction of his chakra triggered his Innate Wisdom and awakened memories of his previous life as Jiang Ming, giving him foreknowledge of the shinobi world’s future conflicts. 1

Yuhi Shinku, a close friend of Aoba’s father, became his legal guardian after consulting Aoba directly. Aoba continued living in his own house under Shinku’s supervision and Nadeshiko’s care, while growing close to Shinku’s daughter, Kurenai. 2
