• Xi Yan covered Luffy’s fists with chakra-infused water, allowing Luffy to punch Aqi Nuo without being burned.
• Luffy fought Aqi Nuo while Xi Yan, Nico Robin, Chopper, Usopp, Merry, and Lilu went to find Zoro.

• Kuma informed Moria that Blackbeard had been named a Shichibukai and warned him that the Straw Hat Pirates might come to Thriller Bark.

• Xi Yan questioned Ai Ke and the others, learned that Moria’s invisible subordinate had been rescued by zombies, and discovered that Nami and the others had gone to Doctor Hogback’s castle.
• Baoya explained that the captives would likely have their shadows stolen and be returned to their ship, while Ai Ke urged Xi Yan to visit the group’s hideout.

• Hilton tried to persuade the group to continue to the castle, but Usopp insisted they return to find Xi Yan and the others.

Xi Yan reunited with Nami, Usopp, Chopper, and Merry, then revealed that Gecko Moria controlled the zombie-filled territory and made zombies by stealing shadows. Chopper chose to investigate Doctor Hogback despite the danger, and the group entered the castle grounds to find out whether Hogback was truly a human or a demon.

• Xi Yan scolded Nami, Usopp, Chopper, and Merry for forgetting that Merry could use the Reverse Summoning Technique to summon him when they were chased by a Cerberus.
• Chopper asked to meet Doctor Hogback, and Xi Yan pointed out the zombies' stitching marks as evidence that Hogback might be involved in making them.

Xi Yan questioned whether a revived corpse could truly be the same person, but Hogback insisted that having her beside him was all that mattered.

• Cindry served pudding without plates, and Hogback explained that she hated plates because she had once destroyed her wealthy fiancé’s treasured ones to test his feelings.

• Moria discussed reviving Zombie No. 900 with Perona, who warned him that Xi Yan’s flames had destroyed the Zombie Generals sent to the Animal Zombie Park.
• Mouse Spiders brought Luffy to Moria, and Perona used her Negative Ghosts to make him collapse in despair.
