Background / History

A is the son of the Third Raikage and was already addressed as “A” before succeeding to the Raikage title, reflecting his prestige within Kumogakure. He and Killer B were secretly deployed to the Sand–Cloud front while doubles impersonated them in the village; their pairing was treated as Kumogakure’s concealed trump card. 15

After Hoshino Maki destroyed Pashira’s ambush force, A assessed that the Sand reinforcements and Pakura’s presence had made the battlefield untenable. He chose to retreat rather than risk further losses, while allowing Maki to take the Fighting Belt demanded during negotiations. 15
