Background / History

More than twenty years before the early story, Bibi Dong knew Ye Feng, Liu Ru Yan, and the women later known as Shui Lanxin and Shui Lanyue. As Spirit Hall’s Saintess, she was innocent and deeply attached to Yu Xiaogang. Liu Ru Yan warned her against being deceived, but Bibi Dong ignored the warning. Qian Xun Ji expelled Yu Xiaogang and confined her when she tried to elope; later accounts reveal his abuse of her in the Secret Chamber 7 211 412.

Bibi Dong eventually devoured Qian Xun Ji through her Soul Devouring Spider Emperor martial soul. After his death, she became Pope, placed responsibility on Tang Hao, and led Spirit Hall against the Clear Sky Sect. At her coronation, she invited Ye Feng and Liu Ru Yan to join Spirit Hall; when they declined, she gave them a Pope Token without forcing their allegiance 7 133.

Her decisive rule strengthened Spirit Hall and earned her the title Iron-Blooded Pope. Bibi Dong begins as an emotionally naïve Saintess and becomes an ambitious, intimidating ruler after her imprisonment and abuse. Her resentment toward the Qian family is intensified by the Rakshasa God’s influence, which causes headaches, unstable behavior, and the feeling that the entire world is against her 7 132 212.

Her concern for Spirit Hall’s reputation remains visible even before her recovery. She condemns Yan for bullying a weaker child and stops the investigation into Ye Liangchen rather than disrespect Skywater Academy or expose its secrets 18.

Ye Liangchen’s encouragement, Ice Heart Incantation, music, and treatment help her abandon her old obsessions. She becomes gentler with her subordinates, openly affectionate toward her disciples, and playful with her daughter. She also apologizes to the Ghost Chrysanthemum Duo for her earlier outbursts 102 124 202 212.
