Heaven, Earth, and Human

The Great Wilderness was intended to be jointly governed by the Heavenly Dao, Earth Dao, and Human Dao, whose balance sustains the world's long-term stability 143.

Before the Earth Dao's revival, the Heavenly Dao held dominant authority and suppressed the Earth and Human Daos. Xuandu's Martial Dao created a path independent of reliance on the Heavenly Dao, awakening the Human Dao and altering the world's established cultivation order 112 113 170.

Houtu's establishment of reincarnation awakened the Earth Dao and ended the Heavenly Dao's sole dominance. This began the formation of a Three Dao balance within the Great Wilderness 169 170.

History

Martial Dao and the Human Dao

Xuandu arrived in the Great Wilderness at Shouyang Mountain as a mortal Human Race member and rejected the path of becoming Laozi's sole Human Sect disciple, instead traveling to Golden Ao Island to join the Jie Sect 1 2.

He later founded Martial Dao for the Human Race: a cultivation path that tempers the body and will rather than relying on external objects or the Heavenly Dao. The Great Dao recognized this new law, causing Human Race fortune to flow away from the Human Sect and toward Xuandu, the Martial Dao Heavenly Stele, and the Human Race 112 113.

Reincarnation and Earth Dao Revival

Houtu merged with the Dao, established the Cycle of Reincarnation, and became an Earth Dao Sage recognized by the Great Dao. Reincarnation gave true spirits a destination after death and an opportunity for rebirth 169.

Her ascension completed a crucial part of the Great Wilderness' law foundation. The Heavenly Dao could no longer suppress the Earth Dao and Human Dao as freely as before 170.

Witch-Demon Tribulation and Sky-Mending

The Witch-Demon War caused Buzhou Mountain to collapse, tilting the heavens and allowing Chaos turbulence to flood into the Great Wilderness 194 214.

Xuandu acted to mend the heavens, using the Qiankun Cauldron and Creation Divine Stone against the spreading Heavenly Scar and Chaos turbulence 214. His later success in mending the sky and supporting the heavens brought the Great Wilderness through this catastrophe 239.

Collapse of the Heavenly Dao

Hongjun's attempt to burn the Heavenly Dao Eye's origin and break through threatened the survival of the Great Wilderness itself 455. Xuandu, Houtu, and their allies ultimately dragged Hongjun through a Chaos fissure and exiled him to the Chaos Depths rather than allowing him to destroy the world alongside the Heavenly Dao 458 460.

The Heavenly Dao Eye was temporarily frozen outside the Great Wilderness, while the Heavenly Dao's remaining origin stayed in Purple Heaven Palace and retained the potential to rise again 460 467.

Current State

Following Hongjun's exile, the Great Wilderness entered a new era in which the Three Daos stand in an emerging balance rather than under uncontested Heavenly Dao control 460 467.

Although the world has become more stable, the Heavenly Dao's remaining origin has not been erased, and the balance between Heaven, Earth, and Human remains incomplete 467 470. During Xuandu's absence in the Chaos Depths, Tongtian remains on Golden Ao Island to guard the Jie Sect and help protect the Great Wilderness 469 504.
