Background

Chaos was born in Chaos alongside the other Four Fierce Beasts and formerly served Shen Ni, the Emperor of Fierce Beasts. Regarded as the strongest of the group beneath Shen Ni, he held the highest status and the largest share of resources. Despite cultivating for countless epochs, he remained unable to cross from the Seventh to the Eighth Heaven; Chaos believed Shen Ni deliberately withheld cultivation methods so his subordinates would remain dependent lackeys rather than potential rivals. 305

After Taowu and Qiongqi fell under Xuandu's command, Chaos pursued Xuandu for the Chaos Bead, dismissing him as an inferior cultivator reliant on a supreme treasure. 303 304 Xuandu's Chaos Light steadily stripped away his Hunyuan Power, while the Chaos Bead concealed Xuandu completely from Chaos's spiritual sense. 304 305

Chaos was initially arrogant, greedy, and deeply confident in the durability of his physical body. He regarded Xuandu as an insignificant opponent and sought to seize the Chaos Bead for himself. 303 304

His defeat exposed his fear of being trapped, drained of power, and abandoned without a path forward.
