Wanting to be noticed, she learned to read people through their words, behavior, and reactions, developing perception that others mistake for mind-reading 25 27.

She transferred into Class D at Advanced Nurturing High School. While the class largely overlooked her, Akasaka Ryunosuke immediately recognized the value of her low presence and sought to recruit her for covert work 23. Megumi understood his intentions from their first meeting, but agreed to help after he sincerely acknowledged her unique qualities and asked to become her friend 27.
