The Surface Maze District

This was the name of a highly renowned master craftsman from roughly a thousand years ago.

In the era shortly after the gods descended a thousand years ago, that master craftsman designed and constructed a vast residential district in the southeastern part of Orario, the Labyrinth City. However, due to his excessive fascination with the Dungeon's labyrinthine structure, he ultimately forced into existence a maze-like street with an extraordinarily complicated and bizarre layout, filled with a sense of disorder.

This maze street was famous for its tangled stairways born from its multilayered design, as well as its chaotic roads stretching into every corner of the district. It was called the Dungeon aboveground. Not only outsiders, but even local residents could become trapped inside after accidentally taking a wrong turn, unable to find their way out. Here, one could see spaces best described as chaotic, twisted passageways, square rooms jutting unnaturally from walls, countless mixed-up staircases, and rows of dirty, cluttered homes forming alleys. Its layered structure was practically like a Dungeon divided across several floors. If one ignored the clothes hanging from ropes everywhere and the old residents casually playing chess, walking through this place might make one worry about whether a monster would suddenly leap out from some corner and attack.

Because the terrain and layout were far too intricate, even the Guild could not properly conduct operations here. As a result, repeated attempts at district reorganization had only caused the area to lose all order, turning it into something close to a lawless zone and reducing this vast residential district to a place where the city's poor lived.

It was said that once someone carelessly entered this place, even high-level adventurers might never make it back out.
