The Second Stage Chunin Selection Exam concluded smoothly after seven days under the supervision of Chief Examiner Genma Shiranui. In the end, twenty-one candidates passed.

Of those twenty-one, the most outstanding was Temari of Sunagakure.

As for Konoha, there were no particularly exceptional Genin. Fortunately, nine of the twenty-one were from Konoha. They couldn't match the others in quality, but they outnumbered the other four villages, which saved face.

Baki was wrapping Temari's injury. In the Forest of Death, Temari had been bitten on the right hand by a venomous insect belonging to a Genin from Konoha's Aburame Clan while saving her teammates. Even so, she had managed to advance with her left hand, despite being saddled with two useless teammates!

"Teacher Baki, my injury isn't serious, is it?" Temari asked anxiously, afraid that they wouldn't be able to get all the poison out of her right hand in time for the final round.

"Don't worry." Baki smiled calmly. "An injury this minor won't take long to heal."

"But..." Temari looked at Baki hesitantly.

Before they had left the Forest of Death, the Chief Examiner for the second stage, Genma Shiranui, had said that the date of the Chunin Exams Final Selection Battle would be announced later. What if it started tomorrow? She'd be in trouble.

Baki seemed to read her thoughts and smiled. "As far as I know, Konoha will invite the Daimyo of Surrounding Countries, ministers, celebrities, wealthy merchants, famous actors, best-selling authors, and other wealthy people to watch the Final Selection Battle. It'll take at least a month for them to travel here."
