Deep in the night outside, the crickets' chirping and the frogs' croaking formed an endless, rising and falling duet, making it hard to sleep and leaving everyone on edge.

Inside, Shisui, Itachi, and Sasuke sat kneeling across from one another, speechless. The duet of crickets and frogs made the atmosphere even more oppressive.

After Sasuke had seen through their ploy, Shisui and Itachi came clean. They stopped pretending and sold Hanfu out.

Sasuke didn't shed a tear upon learning the truth, because he had already considered the possibility. He'd only dismissed it at the time because he thought Senior Hayate wasn't good at Genjutsu.
