Seeing the two seniors approaching, Itachi quickly nodded politely in greeting. "Kakashi-senpai, Senior Hayate."
Kakashi leaned on his cane and nodded slightly in reply.
"Itachi."
Hayate waved and asked with a smile, "What are your Mangekyo Sharingan abilities?"
"Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi," Itachi replied softly, making no attempt to hide them.
"Sounds pretty powerful. Maybe you could spar with Kakashi-senpai sometime?" Hayate chuckled, wearing a rather creepy smile.
Itachi was a little confused, but as a junior, all he needed to do was nod and offer a polite, modest smile.
After parting ways, Hayate and Kakashi walked down the corridor to a small Operating Room at the far end.
Namikaze Minato, Anbu Captain Hawk, and an Anbu Medical Ninja were already waiting inside. As soon as Hayate and Kakashi entered, the Sharingan transplant began.
Ten minutes later, Kakashi had become a man with both eyes glowing red.
"Kakashi, can you handle the strain of the Sharingan?" Namikaze Minato asked.
Kakashi lowered his eyes and quietly focused on how he felt.

After a moment, Kakashi opened his eyes and said quietly, "I can just about manage it, but if I activate the Mangekyo Sharingan..."
Kakashi widened his eyes. The three black tomoe in each iris spun rapidly, transforming into a sickle-shaped pattern, while blood-red veins spread across his pupils like a web.
The moment he activated the Mangekyo Sharingan, Kakashi's brows furrowed. He could feel his Chakra being drained away like water.
Even just maintaining the Mangekyo Sharingan without doing anything took this much Chakra...? Kakashi quickly deactivated it.
