Planet Vampa. That's a desolate planet. How could a mission suddenly pop up there? Is that alien trying to scam me?
No, no, he wouldn't have the guts!
Could it really be that my luck is just this rotten? Is it just because my skin is darker than Son Goku's?
On the spaceship, seeing that familiar name, Turles, clutching the Tree of Might Seed in his hand, felt a bit confused and even somewhat indignant.
Then, he wondered if he should pay his respects to the various great deities of the Dragon Ball world. After all, he hadn't exactly filed a report when he transmigrated here; he might as well pay his respects to the local bosses in advance.
Zeno?
No, that wouldn't work. With Zeno's simple-minded nature, he didn't seem reliable at all. If he happened to get in a mood and decided to erase everything, even Universe 7 would probably be gone!
Grand Priest?
That probably wouldn't work either. The Grand Priest was reliable, but he was busy assisting Zeno in managing the twelve universes. Who knows who Turles is to him?
Whis? Beerus? Supreme Kai Shin?
After running through all the great deities of the Dragon Ball world in his mind, Turles finally had to abandon this whimsical idea.
However, one couldn't really blame Turles; he truly felt he had been incredibly unlucky lately.
Setting aside which deity threw him into this dangerous Dragon Ball world—well, if they threw him, they threw him; he couldn't afford to offend such big shots anyway—they should have at least given him some compensation. Even if not a system, he should have had some kind of cheat, a superpower, or a Majin Bloodline, right?
One wouldn't be too few, and two wouldn't be too many.
But even after Turles tested it several times, he didn't find anything unusual. Even the Tree of Might Seed in his hand was just the standard equipment for the original Turles, and if he hadn't taken a second look, he would have almost missed it entirely.
Fine, even without those, with his familiarity with the plot, he could still become a big shot. But what was with being severely injured and nearly dying right after transmigrating? Torturing the protagonist wasn't trendy anymore, okay? Nowadays, it's all about being satisfying; a non-stop power fantasy from start to finish is the standard. Don't you know that your approach is a bit outdated?
However, Turles suddenly thought that for a Saiyan, getting tortured seemed to make them stronger!
Is that so? Then it's fine. Next item.
And what was the deal with Frieza? He was already planning to run away, so how did he manage to run right into Frieza returning? Didn't he know he was just a small fry right now? Why run straight into such a big boss? Could he even win?
Fine, he only had a brief encounter with Frieza and was just scared out of his wits, but now he was heading straight to the lair of another boss. Turles's heart almost collapsed.
That's right, Turles's next destination was the very planet where that terrifying man—who could increase his power almost infinitely just by roaring—was likely exiled: Broly!
Planet Vampa!
If this single-person spaceship hadn't already had its flight path locked in, making it impossible to change at will, Turles would have really wanted to turn around and go back!
You can't play like this!
Who was Broly? He was a super warrior who might appear only once every thousand years among the Saiyans, the Legendary Super Saiyan with infinite potential!
In the future, Goku and Vegeta would have to rely on training to achieve the Super Saiyan transformation, whereas Broly only needed a single good fight with Goku to reach that level.
Furthermore, Turles did not know if the Broly currently on Planet Vampa was the gentle-natured version from the Super movie, or the one from the original film who chased Goku down to kill him.
Because there was a massive disparity in their settings, the former would be manageable, but if it were the latter, then given that Turles possessed a face identical to Kakarot's, he could simply declare his Dragon Ball journey over the moment he dared to appear before Broly.
Turles's first thought was definitely to run away and lay low for three to five years. With the Tree of Might Seed and his own foresight, it wouldn't be difficult to raise his combat power. By then, whether it was Frieza or Broly, they would only be fit to eat his dust.
However, there was no other way now; he could only take things one step at a time.
According to the time provided by the spaceship's system, he would arrive at Planet Vampa in about a month.
This meant Turles only had one month to figure out a plan. At the very least, he had to avoid direct contact with Broly. Broly shouldn't have the ability to sense Ki yet, so if he could master the ability to suppress his Ki within this month and hide the moment the ship landed, he would still have a chance.
At the very least, he had to ensure that Paragus's Scouter couldn't detect him. On such a massive planet, as long as he stayed hidden, the initiative would be in his hands!
Thinking of this, Turles felt slightly more relaxed. Then, he remembered that until now, he hadn't even had the chance to carefully check his current combat power!
"What a shitty world!" Turles cursed.
Following the method in his memory, Turles activated the Scouter hanging on his left ear and scanned himself!
"Beep! Beep! Beep!"
A series of numbers flashed across the Scouter before finally coming to a stop.
"4862!"
Seeing the combat power displayed on the Scouter, the mood Turles had just calmed down immediately turned sour again. He hadn't expected the original body's aptitude to be this poor. He had already died once, and according to the biological traits of a Saiyan, combat power should see a massive increase after recovering from the brink of death. Yet, he had only managed to increase his power by a little over 3,000. This was far too different from what he had expected!
However, after thinking about it carefully, Turles felt this was actually reasonable. If one could significantly increase their combat power simply by experiencing near-death, then with the Saiyans' obsession with fighting, a large group of powerhouses would have emerged long ago. It wouldn't have been Frieza's place to exterminate Planet Vegeta. One must never underestimate the madness of the Saiyan warrior race when it came to battle!
Moreover, although the death rate of the low-class warriors—who made up the majority—was quite high, there were always survivors after a major war. Over the years, only Bardock had emerged as a low-class warrior with a combat power exceeding 10,000, which showed that there must be some sort of limitation.
Turles guessed that this involved the issue of accumulation. Although Saiyans spent their whole lives fighting, the speed of this potential accumulation was simply too slow. It wasn't like Goku, who underwent massive amounts of training on Earth and later trained under high gravity, which allowed him to see huge gains in strength every time he recovered from a severe injury.
On Planet Namek, Vegeta had also tried to exploit this bug to farm combat power, but the results were not significant, which was likely the reason why.
Furthermore, a peaceful state of mind also helped improve a Saiyan's strength. For instance, the Saiyans in Universe 6 were, on average, much stronger than those in Universe 7. If one followed the settings from the Super movie, the key to transforming into a Super Saiyan was the combination of S-Cells within the body and extreme emotion. Therefore, the S-Cells that grew in a peaceful environment should also play a significant role in a Saiyan's growth!
Turles's predecessor was just like a traditional Saiyan, relying solely on fighting to improve his strength without any concept of training, so this level of improvement was within reason.
Accepting this, Turles felt his mood settle, and he helplessly came to terms with the reality that had left him feeling so depressed.
The vastness and charm of the universe have always attracted the gaze of humanity. From ancient times to the present, people have always looked up at the starry sky, but only when you are truly in the midst of it do you realize how dangerous this expanse of space really is!
In the empty, silent space, a white spherical spaceship streaked by rapidly. The ship was enveloped in a white wake of energy, looking just like a comet dragging a tail behind it!
The camera zooms in, and through the glass of the spaceship, the owner can be clearly seen: a Saiyan warrior named Turles.
Usually, when a pilot is on a long-haul flight in a single-person spaceship, they enter a state of deep hibernation. This serves two purposes: first, it reduces the body's metabolic consumption; second, the universe is simply too vast. In a craft that can only hold one person, there is no room for training or entertainment. If one didn't enter hibernation, the isolation would drive them to a breakdown sooner or later!
However, Turles was not in hibernation as he usually would be. His mind was racing, constantly deep in thought. He needed to learn how to conceal his Ki before reaching his destination, and he was relying on the cultivation methods occasionally mentioned in his memories of the Dragon Ball world.
The cultivation in the Dragon Ball world is quite crude; there are no flashy techniques or complex internal energy manuals. It focuses primarily on physical training. When your body is strong enough, the energy within you becomes equally powerful—this energy manifests as the Ki that exists within every living being.
However, unlike the rough, unrefined way Ki is used across the universe, Earthlings—due to their inherent physical weakness—tend to develop Ki with greater precision. This led to the creation of techniques with different attributes, such as the Destructo Disc, the Tri-Beam, and the Evil Containment Wave.
Most importantly, because they focus on the precise utilization of every ounce of Ki, Earth fighters possess superior sensory capabilities. They can not only sense the Ki of others but also effectively hide their own. What Turles needed to do now was to master his Ki just like an Earth fighter, or at the very least, learn how to conceal his presence.
"Quiet as the sky, swift as lightning!"
This phrase surfaced in Turles's mind. It was what Mr. Popo had taught Son Goku while he was receiving guidance from Kami in the Heavenly Realm. After that training, Goku's strength underwent a heaven-shaking transformation by the time the next World Martial Arts Tournament arrived. It was the most reliable piece of advice he could think of.
He slowly closed his eyes, trying his best to calm his mind. This was incredibly difficult for him. Saiyans are naturally a volatile race; the brutality, bloodlust, and desire for battle inherent in his bloodline kept surfacing in his mind. Combined with the interference of information from his past life's memories, he could never truly focus. Under these conditions, let alone achieving a meditative state, even just calming down was a struggle!
Opening his eyes again, a flash of frustration crossed Turles's face.
Two full days had passed, and Turles hadn't found a single clue. Instead, he had exhausted himself to the point where his eyes were bloodshot.
Turles slumped back into his seat, staring listlessly at his reflection in the spaceship's glass. It was a very familiar face: the iconic black, crab-like hairstyle, the lean face, and the handsome features. Everything was familiar, save for the skin tone. The only difference was the lack of Son Goku's innocent smile, which made him look somewhat gloomy and sinister.
"Son Goku... Kakarot." Turles muttered the two names under his breath, though his thoughts remained unreadable.
Suddenly, a flash of inspiration struck him. He finally realized how he should proceed with his training.
This time, Turles didn't close his eyes. Instead, he kept them open as wide as possible. He gazed at the infinite space beyond the glass. He stopped thinking about training and instead tried to discover the beauty within the empty, silent void.
Massive stars, dim planets, and dangerous asteroid belts—Turles viewed them from a different perspective, allowing himself to appreciate the artistic beauty of the universe.
Slowly, Turles's expression began to settle. The volatility, frustration, and worry on his face all vanished, replaced by a genuine smile—as innocent as a newborn's.
Immersed in the beautiful scenery before him, he slowly closed his eyes. This wasn't the deep hibernation aided by the ship's systems; he had simply drifted off to sleep, a smile still lingering on his face.
