Personality

Charlie is pragmatic, suspicious, and accustomed to judging people through power and self-interest. Lu Yuanming's refusal to exploit the Messiah image initially confuses him, since Charlie believes most people would retain power through lies or violence if given the opportunity 16.

Charlie arrives at the bank during Lu Yuanming’s absence and seeks to join the group, but first demands confirmation of Lu’s supposed divine status. After Lu demonstrates his ability to create ammunition, Charlie accepts his power while maintaining a practical view of faith and survival 16.

He asks Lu for two pistols and sufficient ammunition to investigate the MXG Gang. Charlie returns bloodied but successful, bringing back an injured MXG member whose information reveals the gang’s location and its civilian captives 17.

MXG Gang Campaign

Charlie accompanies Lu Yuanming and Peter in the operation against the MXG Gang. He guides the team through territory he knows well, identifies the gang’s use of civilians as expendable scavengers, and advises Lu on the gang’s likely reaction to being attacked 19.
