Background

Lu Yuanming was a 23-year-old graduate from Z Country when he was struck by a car while attending a job interview. The accident left him in a vegetative state: he retained consciousness and could hear others, but could not move even his eyelids. He remained trapped in this condition for over half a year. 1

He possesses obsessive-compulsive disorder, though treatment and guidance kept it largely limited to small habits. One enduring routine is drinking water every eight hours when he has not exerted himself heavily. 3

A beam of light eventually drew his consciousness into the body of an Asian American man in the South Bronx of New York in 2028. The body’s original owner was impoverished, addicted to drugs, and unknown to Lu Yuanming, who inherited none of his memories or connections. 1

After dying in a supernatural incident, Lu Yuanming entered the ruined Dark Matter World. His initial experiences there—betrayal by fellow survivors, pursuit by monsters, and mutilation while hiding—made survival and returning to his original body his immediate priorities. 3 4

Lu Yuanming’s ordinary physical body is a slightly myopic, comparatively frail young man around 1.73 meters tall. His empowered Soul Body grows substantially through reinforcement and is eventually nearly three meters tall. 15 39
