Background / History

Jiang Ling was eating at home in his previous world when he was suddenly transported to Namek, where he appeared in Bulma's bathroom. His system activated shortly afterward; he selected male gender and chose a package that fused him with Saiyan bloodline. He initially had no known origin, a Saiyan tail, and little power compared with the fighters active during the Namek crisis. 1 2

After Namek's survivors were transported to Earth, Jiang Ling asked the Great Elder to unlock his potential. The Great Elder judged him by the clarity of his eyes rather than his Saiyan heritage, granted the request, and asked him to help the Namekians in the future.
