Background / History

When Shiraishi Yoshijo and several Konoha clan heads approach him, the Daimyo is secretly suffering from poisoning. Yoshijo removes the toxins with medical ninjutsu, then seeks his support against Konoha’s internal factions. The Daimyo initially accuses him of treason, but becomes interested when Yoshijo proposes a Ninja Military Academy that would belong to and answer exclusively to the Daimyo. 352 353

He backs the academy because it offers a means to build a military force independent of Konoha. However, he distrusts Yoshijo after the latter begins a rebellion without waiting for his preparations, and he hands Right Red to Konoha to demonstrate his displeasure and protect his own position. 380

Yoshijo’s treatment restores the Daimyo’s health and eventually rejuvenates him, extending his rule and frustrating crown prince Zhixiong. 380 466 477
