Bersha's Worries
After spending a few days in the lounge, Lynch and his group rested again. During these days, they had reported to the Holy Cathedral and issued a warrant for the arrest of the man who had instigated the Dewitt mother and son to commit murder.
Of course, they also contacted the nobleman who had entrusted Mr. Dewitt, asking him to once again hire Lawyer to investigate Ambassador Baclond.
This Lawyer is the Red Gloves; the other side is just waiting for Ambassador Baclond to make another move so they can wipe them all out!
However, perhaps Ambassador Baclond was on high alert, because while the Lawyer was collecting evidence, Baclond remained completely silent, as if he knew nothing about the matter.
But Lynch was certain that Ambassador Baclond would take action. If he remained inactive, all the things he had been hiding in the shadows would surely be uncovered. Now it all depended on what Baclond was going to do.
"Lynch, are you free this afternoon? Come play cards. I heard from Bersha that you're really good at it, you've won a lot of money from them. Come on, let's give it a try."
On Monday afternoon, after listening to Bersha recount their past experiences, Leonard excitedly urged Lynch to go play cards.
Lynch immediately refused.
He was only cheating secretly while Leonard was away. Now that Leonard is back, he can't use his Beyonder Ability at all. What if he loses money?
"I have things to do! Bersha, come with me to go shooting!"
Lynch urged.
Bersha responded listlessly. She didn't really like this activity and always slacked off whenever she went. Hearing Lynch's words, she wished Lynch would just get lost.
When she dislikes something, even if it's something a good-looking person calls her, she feels that the person's face instantly turns ferocious.
"Okay! Don't make that face. You can rest for a day, I can go by myself."
Lynch offered a perfunctory word of comfort to the other person.
Just as Bersha was about to agree, Miss Daly kicked her out.
"Don't let your guard down. You can rest today and rest tomorrow, but do you think the Criminal will stop beating you just because you're resting?"
Bersha stood up, tears welling in her eyes.
"I've noticed that you're becoming more and more like the captain. You used to seem like a woman who understood us, but now you're completely unreasonable!"
Bersha has become more familiar with the team, and now she dares to tease Daly directly.
But Daly wasn't bothered by the jokes at all. She stretched, revealing her alluring figure, and said smugly, "When someone is going in and out of your body, you'll inevitably pick up some of their habits."
Lynch wished he could cover his ears.
Miss Daly should really take note; she's speaking with more gusto than most men these days.
Bersha blushed as she listened. She ran out of the lounge, vowing never to tease Miss Daly again. She was still a little baby next to Miss Daly!
Lynch had something to do in the afternoon, so after firing his rounds at the club, he quickly said goodbye to Bersha.
"Where are you going? Leonard told me to keep an eye on you; he's worried you might get out of control!"
Bersha grabbed his hem and called out worriedly.
"It won't get out of control. The Holy Cathedral has already checked it, and I've already explained it to Miss Daly. Look, Dunn isn't saying anything to me anymore."
Leonard didn't know that some things were beyond his purview to know. "If he asks you, just say you went to the restroom. You're a girl, you can't exactly go into the men's restroom, can you?"
Lynch gave Bersha an excuse to deal with Leonard.
He told Miss Daly what she said, Miss Daly only told Dunn. After Dunn confirmed that what he said was true, he immediately helped him cover up the fact that the Goddess had given him a watch.
He worried that others would be jealous and rush over to kill Lynch.
Leonard didn't say anything, which is why Leonard is still very worried about him, and even had Bersha keep an eye on him.
"You should at least tell me what you're doing. Even if Leonard doesn't ask, I'll feel guilty if you've actually done something."
Bersha said seriously.
Lynch thought for a moment, then explained in a serious tone, "Okay! I'll tell you, but don't tell anyone else. I recently took on a private commission to investigate a wife's cheating husband. I took this commission privately."
If I tell the team, I'll get a share of the money. I want to save more money. You can understand me, right? It's like when you're a performer in the circus; how can you make a living if you don't earn money?"
Bersha suddenly realized, but she immediately said helplessly, "Don't make it sound like you're so greedy. I heard you earn thirty pounds a week! You're short of money because you're investigating Ince Zangwill's whereabouts, right?"
Lynch:----
He nodded helplessly.
Okay!
That's what he did!
"Hmph, go ahead then! And kick that cheating man while you're at it, I hate guys like that the most!"
Bersha said angrily.
Lynch nodded perfunctorily.
"Don't worry! If I get the chance, I'll dismantle his tools and bring them back to you so you can have them as a snack with your drinks!"
Bersha:----
How could this person say something so disgusting?
But I was probably just trying to cheer her up; she seemed too worried.
But Lynch's relentless pursuit of the killer genuinely worried her, and Leonard was also very concerned.
The two of them often discussed what Lynch would do if he found Ince Zangwill's trail, and they always ended up concluding that Lynch would perish together with Ince Zangwill, which was really worrying.
Lynch was unaware of Bersha's worries; he had already jumped into the carriage.
He was worried he would be late if he didn't take a carriage, as he had spent too much time with Bersha.
Although he wasn't afraid of being late, he didn't want to appear as if he wasn't afraid of the Fool at all.
The timing was almost perfect.
He had just returned home and washed his hands when Klein dragged him up to Sefirah Castle.
Good afternoon, Mr. Power!
After greeting the Fool and the Mr. Hanged Man, Miss Justice excitedly greeted Lynch.
Good afternoon, Ms. Telepathist.
Lynch said with a smile.
Miss Justice didn't know when she received the Seven-Colored Lizard Dragon from Mr. Hanged Man, but in any case, she has now Advancement.
"This is all thanks to you and Mr. Hanged Man, otherwise I don't know when I would have Advancement!"
Miss Justice said cheerfully.
She should especially thank Mr. Power; he didn't provide the Sequence formula, and she's probably still searching for news of the Psychology Alchemists!
This is your own hard work.
Lynch said softly.
Audrey seemed even happier after he praised her, but she quickly changed the subject.
"Mr. Power, the quill pen you gave me last time was so useful. I wrote to two friends, and they were almost scared to tears, but the reply came very quickly, which is much more convenient than before."
Audrey's enthusiastic tone drew a envious look from the Mr. Hanged Man nearby.
He almost got the quill pen, but he hesitated too much and missed out. If only he had been bolder and asked for it directly.
Of course, there was also a Mr. Fool, who was even more frustrated than the Mr. Hanged Man, and he sat up slightly.
He was clearly friends with Lynch, but all he could do was look at the quill pen; he couldn't even get a quill pen. That's so sad!
