Eating a buffet?
late at night,
Lynch tidied up his study materials for the day, took a shower, and for the first time, fell asleep on time.
After all, he had already told Dunn that he would go to sleep as soon as possible.
Sleeping was a problem for Lynch. He was almost used to going to bed late and waking up early, so he couldn't fall asleep at all. In the end, he could only fall asleep by meditating.
After an unknown amount of time, Lynch opened his eyes.
This was his room, and Dunn was standing in front of him, wearing the gentleman's hat that Loen often wore.
Lynch hesitated for a moment, unsure whether he should greet Dunn in his dream. Most people's dreams, before being reminded by someone, involve them simply doing their own thing and not paying much attention to others.
So he decided to follow Klein's example, opened the book on his own, and prepared to study for a while in his dream.
"Stop studying, come with me to find Klein."
Dunn glanced at his watch, then helped Lynch up.
Lynch seemed to only notice Dunn at this moment, and asked in a puzzled tone, "Is there a case to handle?"
No, let's go eat.
Dunn laughed.
Lynch was a little confused.
However, he still obediently followed Dunn and knocked on Klein's door, and then Lynch saw Klein.
The guy was sitting at the table eating, and Dunn pulled Lynch to sit down next to him.
Two more, please.
Dunn said bluntly.
Lynch almost burst out laughing when he saw Klein's expression falter almost imperceptibly.
No, Captain, did you come to Klein's dream to treat him to dinner?
"I've tried the food here before, and it was excellent, so I was planning to bring you here to try it."
Dunn said gently.
Lynch suppressed a smile and nodded.
No wonder I kept inviting him to go to bed early; turns out he came for a buffet.
"Thank you, Captain."
He said sincerely.
Dunn waved his hand and placed the food that Klein had imagined in front of Lynch.
Lynch didn't stand on ceremony and started eating.
After finishing his meal, he looked at Klein.
Is there anything else?
Klein:...
He was truly impressed.
Since the delicious food he had eaten could not be recreated, he could only imagine other delicacies to feed Lynch, the glutton.
He now realized that the captain really did have a talent for playing the role of Nightmare. It was one thing for him to come over and freeload before, but now he even brought Lynch along. Neither of them was polite; they treated him purely as a food deliveryman.
After Klein prepared three delicious dishes, Lynch finally filled his stomach.
He gave Klein a thumbs-up.
"Will you still be able to treat me and the captain to meals in the future?"
He asked enthusiastically.
Klein turned his head away expressionlessly.
No, get out of here, you two!
"You mean you bought a Potion recipe on the underground market? And only spent fifty pounds?"
No, child, you've been fooled. As far as I know, while Sequence 9 Potion recipe isn't expensive, it's not something you can get for fifty pounds. Don't get your hopes up."
On Sunday morning, Lynch went to the security company and announced that he had spent fifty pounds to buy Potion recipe from an Spectator, intending to use it to earn credit.
Even Rozanne found such words outrageous.
"Fifty pounds... may tell you what the auxiliary materials are."
Old Neil sighed speechlessly.
Lynch has been studying under him for so long, yet he still makes such a basic Error. Sure enough, he needs to warn Lynch a few more times and make sure he doesn't mention anything about him when he goes out.
"Put it away! Poor child, he'll probably have to live frugally for a while."
Royale sighed with amusement, his gaze towards Lynch filled with sympathy.
Lynch, who already has to be frugal because he eats a lot, will probably have to live a frugal life for a while.
He also said that this guy had received a bounty, but he spent it all in the blink of an eye, and in such a wasteful way.
"No, listen to me, the formula is definitely real. Although I didn't spend much money, I'm still very good at judging people."
The other party was clearly desperate for money; this recipe was the only thing they could get for a little cash, but no one on the market would buy it. I was the only one who could help them and also benefit from it – a true win-win situation!
Lynch spoke with confidence, but those who heard him were only more speechless.
Silly child, doesn't the fact that nobody buys his Potion recipe prove anything?
In those ordinary underground markets, there's no way to distinguish between genuine and fake Potion recipes. Who would be so foolish as to do something like that?
Oh, it's Lynch!
"How about this, I'll lend you ten pounds, and you can pay me back within six months. That should help you make ends meet during that time. What do you say?"
Leonard kindly lent him money, but unfortunately Lynch didn't appreciate it.
"Really, you can check if it's true or not for me. I'm very good at judging people. When you and the captain came to question Klein, I was able to tell that you two were the most capable!"
Lynch tried to explain, but everyone laughed.
It's not surprising that you can see how good the captain and Leonard are; after all, they are Beyonder, and they will always be different from ordinary people.
This only shows that Lynch observed carefully at the time.
But when it comes to buying Potion recipes, there's no way to compete, right?
Can you really determine the authenticity of something so technically difficult?
Even Old Neil and the Holy Cathedral needed to conduct a thorough examination, let alone someone like Lynch with a bad memory.
"Listen to me, please help me verify if it's true or not, I'm begging you, I really need to make a contribution to Advancement Sequence 8!"
Lynch was speechless.
He had planned it perfectly well, just to have Old Neil do the authentication, but he didn't expect it to be so troublesome.
These people would rather laugh at him here than help him with the appraisal.
They could easily tell if the formula was genuine or not just by checking it, but these people simply don't believe it.
Indeed, fifty pounds does sound strange; he would have preferred to say he bought the recipe for three hundred pounds.
But he had just bought Klein a crystal ball a few days ago, and the news had already spread throughout the security company. Now he had spent another two hundred pounds, and the Nighthawks might investigate his finances!
He could also say he bought a recipe for one hundred pounds, but the difference would be minimal.
No one believed that fifty pounds could buy a genuine recipe, nor would anyone believe that one hundred pounds could buy a genuine recipe.
Well!
Lynch kept sighing, and Old Neil finally gave in.
"Alright, alright, poor Lynch, he must have been blinded by fifty pounds. I'll help him get it appraised. Just so you know, if it's fake, don't cry. Nobody's going to be soft-hearted. I can only lend you twenty pounds at most; I don't have any extra money lately!"
Old Neil grumbled as he went to set up the Ritual, looking down on Lynch, which made Lynch's face turn red with anger.
Look at what Old Neil is saying!
He bought a counterfeit product and he can still cry?
It's just fifty pounds.
However, Lynch thought about it again. If he really had spent fifty pounds on a fake, he might not only cry, but he would also take the revolver to the person who sold him the item and demand an explanation.
Someone has to die here!
