Konoha ended its wars with Kumogakure and Kirigakure, then Sarutobi Toru secretly exploited the conflict between Iwagakure, Sunagakure, and Kumogakure to harvest Tailed Beast chakra. The arc ended with Iwagakure battered and retreating as Ōnoki sought Konoha’s aid and prepared the Explosion Corps as a last resort.

• The Third Raikage captured Hiruko, and Konoha and Kumogakure withdrew before Hatake Sakumo later challenged the Raikage and helped secure peace on Konoha’s terms.
• Tsunade and Sarutobi Toru defeated Kirigakure’s invasion of the Land of Whirlpools, and Sarutobi Toru experimented on Utakata to create Six-Tails Chakra-infused White Zetsu.
• The Fourth Mizukage redirected Kirigakure toward the Land of Wind as Kumogakure and Iwagakure began fighting on their own fronts.
• Sunagakure routed Iwagakure’s southern forces, but Kinnara and Rasa captured Rōshi after defeating the Four-Tails, while a masked ninja briefly rescued him.
• Sarutobi Toru extracted Four-Tails Chakra from Rōshi, returned him to Iwagakure, and infiltrated Han’s body to release the Five-Tails in Ōnoki’s camp.
• Iwagakure subdued and sealed the Five-Tails, but Han died and the beast would break free within two days without continued reinforcement.
• Ōnoki’s forces suffered heavy losses against Kumogakure, so he ordered a retreat and sent Kitsuchi to request Konoha’s reinforcements while preparing to mobilize the Explosion Corps if Konoha refused.

Sarutobi Toru helped Iwagakure repel Kumogakure, while Sasori created a puppet army that drove Iwagakure and Amegakure from Sunagakure’s territory. The arc ended with the Third Kazekage dead, Sunagakure and Iwagakure’s negotiations broken off, and Sasori preparing a stealth airship with Kinnara.

• The Third Raikage advanced into the Land of Earth, but Sarutobi Toru defeated Kumogakure’s forces and forced them to withdraw, then returned to Konoha with the Five-Tails Muo and two captured Jinchuriki.
• Sarutobi Toru gathered Tailed Beast Chakra and marked Muo with the Flying Thunder God Technique Formula, while wars among Kirigakure, Sunagakure, and Iwagakure continued.
• Sasori of the Red Sands gained access to Shamon’s research and proposed using Kinnara’s Wood Release to bind Shukaku and power an army of autonomous puppets.
• Kinnara restrained Shukaku, allowing Sasori to extract its Chakra and produce puppets controlled by sealed Clones.
• Sunagakure’s Puppet Army overwhelmed Iwagakure and Amegakure, pursued their retreating forces for three days, and left Hanzo of the Salamander’s fate unknown.
• Iwagakure and Sunagakure began peace negotiations, but the Fourth Mizukage killed the Third Kazekage and Kirigakure’s raid forced Sunagakure to break them off.
• Sasori showed Kinnara a stealth airship blueprint, and Kinnara agreed to begin building an airship for thousands of people.

Sarutobi Toru infiltrated the Akatsuki Organization, then seized the Ten-Tails before it could be used to complete their plan. After taking Nagato’s Rinnegan and refining Black Zetsu, he moved the God Tree to a remote location to make it produce a Chakra Fruit.

• Sarutobi Toru ate the artificial Chakra Fruit, gained a threefold increase in Chakra, and developed Six Paths abilities.
• Hanzo of the Salamander sacrificed himself to secure peace between Amegakure and Sunagakure, while Sasori of the Red Sands later became Fourth Kazekage after devastating Kirigakure.
• Sarutobi Toru returned to the parallel world and learned from Pakura that the Akatsuki Organization had captured most of the Tailed Beasts and planned another attack.
• Sarutobi Toru disguised himself as Shennong and joined the Akatsuki Organization, then persuaded Nagato and Uchiha Obito to attack the Five Kage Summit.
• Nagato and the Akatsuki attacked the summit, where Black Zetsu helped kill the Fourth Raikage before the Akatsuki retreated to Turtle Island and captured Killer B.
• Nagato began sealing the Eight-Tails and Nine-Tails’ Chakra, but Sarutobi Toru waited for Uchiha Madara’s move as the allied shinobi forces approached Amegakure.
• Uchiha Madara and Black Zetsu appeared as the Ten-Tails awakened, but Sarutobi Toru sealed Black Zetsu, incapacitated Nagato, and took the Ten-Tails away from the battlefield.
• Sarutobi Toru transplanted Nagato’s Rinnegan, refined Black Zetsu for his knowledge, and moved the God Tree with Pakura after a Sand Shinobi squad discovered it.

Sarutobi Toru took the Ten-Tails to the Land of Snow, harvested its Chakra Fruit, and gained new powers before freeing and weakening the Tailed Beasts. He revived Tobirama and the dead sought by the villages, then left Minato facing pressure to return as Hokage while Tobirama stayed to study with him.

• Sarutobi Toru subdued and brainwashed the Snow Ninja, then grew the Ten-Tails into a God Tree whose roots drove them from their base.
• The Five Great Shinobi Villages and Akatsuki reached the Land of Snow, where Sarutobi Toru harvested the ripe Chakra Fruit and explained the history of Chakra and the God Tree.
• Sarutobi Toru negotiated with the shinobi for resurrection payments, then ate the Chakra Fruit and awakened a powerful Rinnegan with new space-time abilities.
• Sarutobi Toru pulled the Tailed Beasts from the Ten-Tails, weakened by the Chakra Fruit, and let them leave after they signed Summoning Scrolls.
• Sarutobi Toru used a Rinnegan White Zetsu to revive Tobirama Senju, reunited him with Tsunade, and recruited him to a research team.
