History
Origins
The God Realm originated from the shattered remains of the Divine Dragon Realm. In its earlier age, the Dragon God’s realm controlled more than ten star systems, annexed smaller God Realms, and accepted outstanding beings from those systems as deities. The Asura God and other future God Kings entered the Dragon God’s realm during this period. 57
After the Dragon God War devastated that realm, only a portion survived and evolved into the Douluo God Realm. The surviving realm was occupied by the five God Kings and a body of deities, many of whom had risen through the Dragon God’s scattered legacy. 57
Control over Douluo Star
Douluo Star remained nominally under the God Realm’s jurisdiction. The gods could previously monitor the lower realm, select inheritors, issue divine trials, grant rewards, and—in some cases—interfere directly. 160
The God Kings had once destroyed a flourishing Soul Tool civilization after its mortals began analyzing, imitating, and attempting to control divine power. Their concern was not Soul Tools themselves, but powerful Soul Tools beyond divine control. 159 160
When Spirit Hall revived Soul Tool research, the God Realm Committee agreed to erase the research sites and kill selected Soul Engineers remotely. Its divine power vanished without effect upon entering Douluo Star, revealing that the planet’s planar consciousness had severed substantive divine control while still permitting divine trials and rewards. 160
Internal Crisis
The Dragon Realm’s escape from the God Realm and the later resurrection of the Dragon God destabilized the realm’s political order. The God Kings feared the Dragon Clan’s return, while the Golden Dragon King’s escape and the loss of the Asura Divine Sword weakened the Asura God’s authority. 57 197 199
The Kindness God and Evil God abruptly transferred their positions to Arthur and Dongfang Yao before leaving the God Realm. Their successors inherited God King authority but received few artifacts, subordinates, or records, leaving their foundations unusually weak. 245 257
The conflict between the Asura God and the God of Destruction eventually ended with the Asura God’s capture and execution. Kai and Doria subsequently ascended as the new Asura God and Sea God, while Cai Wenji became the new Life Goddess. 254 263 265
Expansion Era
After consolidating power, the God of Destruction organized the realm’s expansion. The former Space God and Dongfang Jing reinforced the growing boundaries with spatial divine runes, while other gods tempered incoming cosmic energy and integrated it into the realm’s origin. 266
The expansion succeeded without the expected collapse. The God Realm emerged larger, more stable, and richer in divine power, with its boundary described as a vast, fortified wall floating in the cosmos. 267
Governance and Divine Order
- God Realm Committee — The realm’s central governing body. Its five principal seats historically belonged to the God Kings; the Asura God occupied the central seat as arbiter of judgment and adjudication. 249
- God Kings — The highest divine authorities, each associated with fundamental laws. A God King position cannot ordinarily be duplicated through the same path of laws; another deity must inherit or seize the existing God King godhood to occupy that throne. 246
- First-class and second-level gods — Lesser divine ranks beneath the God Kings. First-class gods include major deities such as the Sea God and the elemental gods, while newly ascended second-level gods receive markedly less status and attention. 239 247
- Divine officials — Lower-ranking divine personnel who administer routine matters, receive new gods, patrol the realm boundary, and maintain defensive works. 247 279
- Divine inheritances — Divine positions may be passed to successors through trials or direct transfer. Artifacts, knowledge, subordinates, and institutional foundations are major components of an effective inheritance. 241 257
- Departure from the realm — Gods who attempted to flee the God Realm after the Asura God’s fall lost the empowerment of their godhood and became little stronger than divine officials. 265
Environment
The God Realm is a vast divine plane of rolling cloud seas, towering temples, radiant pathways, and unusually dense divine energy. Its central divine hall hosts major councils and ceremonies, while God Kings and principal gods maintain restricted core domains. 245 247
Following the expansion, the realm’s boundary became more distant and resilient, while the concentration of divine power rose enough to accelerate cultivation within it. 267 275
Relationships
- God Realm Committee — Central authority that directs the realm’s major policies, divine interventions, and political judgments. 160 249
- Douluo Star — Nominal subordinate plane whose planar consciousness blocks direct divine interference but continues to transmit divine trials and rewards. 160
- Dragon God and Dragon Clan — The God Realm arose from the remnants of the Dragon God’s former realm; the revived Dragon Clan later became its greatest external threat. 57 279
- God of Destruction — Consolidated authority after the internal conflict and led the successful realm-expansion project. 266 267
- Qian Xunji — A mysterious ascendant whose unrecorded divine trial and delayed arrival drew the God of Destruction’s scrutiny. 275
Major Arcs
- Dragon Realm Crisis — The Dragon Realm escaped, leaving the God Realm unable to track it through spatial divine power and intensifying conflict among the gods. 57
- Planar Severance — The Committee’s attempt to destroy Spirit Hall’s Soul Tool research failed when its divine power disappeared within Douluo Star. 160
- Succession Panic — Facing the Dragon Clan threat, many gods accelerated divine trials and rushed to transfer their positions to successors. 197 253
- God King Power Struggle — The departures of the Kindness and Evil Gods, Qian Renxue’s conflict with Poseidon, and the exposure of the Asura God’s crimes shattered the old balance of power. 245 251 262 263
- New Order and Expansion — The God of Destruction executed the Asura God, subdued the internal crisis, and expanded the God Realm with the cooperation of its remaining gods. 265 266 267
- Dragon Clan Invasion — A massive Dragon Clan army assembled in the void and advanced on the God Realm, triggering its realm-wide alarm and defenses. 279
