Background / History

Learning Her Original Fate

Xiao Yi Xian has not met Xiao Yan when Qian Xunji warns her about him. He uploads a memory copy of Battle Through the Heavens, allowing her to learn her original future before their relationship begins 17 18.

After reading it, she becomes less resistant to using poison and offers her poisons to help other group members. She retains her dream of becoming an alchemist, but recognizes the importance of poison to her Woeful Poison Body 30. She later thanks Qian Xunji for giving her the knowledge to avoid her original romantic path with Xiao Yan 60.

Xiao Tian Mission and Cave Treasures

The Chat Group identifies Xiao Tian, a transmigrator using the Myriad Worlds Mall System, as a threat to her personal safety and issues a mission to eliminate him. Qian Xunji and Dongfang Bai travel to her world to assist her 54 57 62.

Before confronting Xiao Tian, Qian Xunji accompanies her to a hidden cliffside cave to secure the Seven Colored Poison Scripture. She gathers valuable medicinal herbs there and receives the scripture, two advanced Dou Techniques, and a fragmented map connected to the Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame 65 70 73 74.

During the subsequent herb-gathering expedition, she pretends to discover the cave with Xiao Tian. She conceals her prior knowledge of him and acts out reactions drawn from the original storyline to keep him unsuspecting 83 86 88 94. When Mu Li attempts to seize the treasures and capture her, she slips into hiding with Qian Xunji and Dongfang Bai during the confusion 96 99 100.

Xiao Tian escapes, but later discovers that the apparent cave treasures he obtained are fakes. He considers suspecting Xiao Yi Xian, then dismisses the possibility because he underestimates her ability to reach the cave 105. She has also secretly exposed him to a poison primer, intended as a backup for the group’s next trap 106.

Conflict with the Wolf Head Mercenary Group

Xiao Yi Xian returns to the expedition camp because abandoning the team would cause problems. Her allies remain nearby in hiding, while the gratitude of the hired mercenaries gives her additional protection against Mu Li 107.

She replaces the Wolf Head Mercenary Group’s close-protection duties with independent mercenaries and feeds Mu Li a fabricated message from Xiao Tian. Although she dislikes such methods, she is willing to provoke conflict between two men she considers enemies 108 109.

Mu She avoids attacking her openly because of her reputation and Wanyao Pavilion’s backing. Instead, he plans to spread rumors about her possession of a valuable technique to attract other attackers 113.

Wanyao Pavilion Confrontation

While studying the Seven Colored Poison Scripture, Xiao Yi Xian comes under pressure from Mr. Yao, who wants the scripture for himself. She maintains outward courtesy, evades his questions, and secretly poisons his tea as a precaution 140 141 142.

Despite being watched, she remains at Wanyao Pavilion because its herb supplies support her experiments. When Qian Xunji and Yun Yun return, she protects them from the poison in her room with an antidote and prepares to leave 145 146.

Mr. Yao blocks their departure with armed guards. Xiao Yi Xian reveals that he has been poisoned, pointing to the discoloration of his right palm. Qian Xunji then intervenes, seeking to preserve her access to Wanyao Pavilion’s medicinal resources rather than simply remove her from the establishment 146 147.

Appearance

Xiao Yi Xian has a delicate face, a gentle smile, and a fresh, graceful bearing. Her notably slender waist repeatedly attracts attention in Qingshan Town 59 60 75.

  • Clothing: Usually wears white or light-white robes, with a green belt described during the expedition’s departure 59 75.
  • Hair: Dark hair is directly observed during her encounter with Xiao Tian; silver hair appears in the description of her original-story counterpart 62 82.
  • Night attire: Wears black while accompanying Qian Xunji to the treasure cave 65.

Personality

Xiao Yi Xian’s kindness is grounded in her work as a physician: many local mercenaries owe her treatment or other favors. She also takes her responsibilities as expedition leader seriously, returning to camp after the cave incident rather than disappearing without explanation 64 107.

Her gentle manner does not prevent calculated self-defense. She can maintain polite etiquette with Mr. Yao while preparing against betrayal, convincingly deceive Xiao Tian, and use her standing among mercenaries to thwart Mu Li 100 108 141 142.

She is eager for strength but conscious of her limitations. Although pleased to receive rare techniques and a Heavenly Flame map, she refuses to pursue the Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame without sufficient power, knowing that failure could turn her into its Fire Slave 73 74. Her courage is likewise deliberate rather than effortless: she enters the dark cave despite genuine fear because the mission matters to her 90.

Abilities & Skills

Woeful Poison Body

An innate constitution that converts consumed poison into poisonous Dou Qi, allowing cultivation through toxins rather than relying solely on years of conventional training 30.

  • More toxic substances provide greater benefits to her strength 30.
  • Grants immunity to toxins, while filling her body with poisonous energy 62.
  • Her original future includes learning to control the constitution; that control is not established for her current self 62.

Medicine and Herb Gathering

A highly regarded physician whose presence makes expeditions unusually attractive to local mercenaries 60 76.

  • Has treated most of Qingshan Town’s mercenaries 64.
  • Identifies rare herbs, including Purple Blue Leaf, White Spirit Ginseng Fruit, and Snow Lotus Seed 70.
  • Carefully excavates and preserves medicinal plants using jade tools and containers 70.
  • Is not an alchemist: physicians combine medicinal materials with ordinary flames rather than refining true medicinal pills. Her innate attributes are described as preventing her from becoming an alchemist 60 94.

Poison Refinement and Antidotes

Uses medicinal powders and poisons for protection, covert attacks, and leverage 83 106 142 146.

  • Supplies medicine used against a Rock Snake 89.
  • Secretly exposes Xiao Tian to a poison primer; a second poison is intended to trigger a lethal reaction 106.
  • Poisons Mr. Yao without his noticing and later uses that exposure to challenge his attempt to detain her 142 146.
  • Applies a light-red antidote to Qian Xunji and Yun Yun’s palms when they enter her poisoned room 145.
  • Needs large quantities of herbs for experiments with the Seven Colored Poison Scripture 140 147.

Acting and Tactical Deception

Uses knowledge from the memory copy to perform the role Xiao Tian expects, concealing both her preparations and her allies 83 88 94 100.

  • Pretends not to know Xiao Tian’s identity 83.
  • Feigns fear and ignorance during the staged cave exploration 88 94.
  • Deceives Xiao Tian successfully enough that Qian Xunji praises her acting 100.
  • Exploits rivalry between Xiao Tian and Mu Li rather than confronting both directly 108 109.

Expedition Leadership

Leads Wanyao Pavilion’s herb-gathering team and organizes its movements and protection 77 80 108.

  • Calls rest stops for the expedition 80.
  • Reassigns guard duties when the Wolf Head Mercenary Group becomes a threat 108.
  • Draws substantial support from mercenaries grateful for her medical care 107 108.

Relationships

  • Qian Xunji — Chat Group leader, protector, and source of knowledge about her original fate. She trusts him and values his praise; he provides cultivation resources and intervenes against her enemies. His narration also reveals possessive interest in her, rather than purely disinterested protection 18 59 60 73 100 147.
  • Dongfang Bai — Fellow group member who joins the Xiao Tian mission and helps protect her during the cave operation 57 62 100 107.

  • Mu She — Mu Li’s father and leader of the Wolf Head Mercenary Group. Seeks to undermine her protection through rumors rather than attack her openly 113.
  • Mr. Yao — Wanyao Pavilion’s head, who recruited her but later tries to obtain her scripture and prevent her departure. She counters him with concealed poison 141 142 146.
  • Qingshan Town’s mercenaries — Patients, admirers, and practical allies whose gratitude makes attacking her publicly difficult 59 64 107 108.
