Mu Li led the group's escort detachment around Xiao Yi Xian. His repeated attempts to court her, along with his reputation for visiting brothels, generated resentment among other mercenaries 78. After an incident involving Mu Li, Xiao Yi Xian replaced the Wolf Head guards with other mercenaries, leaving the group unable to continue its close-protection role 108.

Conflict with Xiao Tian

Treasure Cave Incident

The group's conflict with Xiao Tian began over treasure discovered in a cave. Mu Li attempted to seize the valuables from Xiao Tian and Xiao Yi Xian, ordering his men to capture Xiao Yi Xian and kill Xiao Tian 96. When Xiao Tian proved capable of fighting Mu Li to a draw despite being two levels lower, Mu Li ordered the mercenaries to swarm him 98.

After Xiao Tian escaped, Mu Li concluded that his growth posed an existential threat to the group and ordered an unrestricted search-and-kill operation. He offered a low-grade Xuan-tier Dou Technique as a reward for Xiao Tian's death 106 110.

Magical Beast Mountain Range Losses

Xiao Tian turned the hunt against the Wolf Head Mercenary Group, eliminating search parties and interrogating captured members for their deployment, strengths, and locations. Within two days, he had hunted more than a dozen search parties and killed nearly every encountered member below six-star Dou Practitioner 112.

The losses escalated to core personnel. Mu She reported that over a dozen core members had died in a single day, an especially severe setback because such members required resources, time, and personal ties to cultivate 129. Mu She responded by ordering searches in groups of at least four and later widening the net across the mountain range 113 130.

Death of He Meng

He Meng entered the Magical Beast Mountain Range with a detachment to capture a Blue Fox for a woman, despite the group's recent losses. Xiao Tian infiltrated the camp after incapacitating its mercenaries with sleeping powder and assassinated He Meng 131 133 140.

He Meng's death became public throughout Qingshan Town. The incident humiliated the group, which had long presented itself as the foremost of the town's three major mercenary forces 143.

Fall of the Commanders

Mu She led the group and allied mercenaries in a final effort to surround Xiao Tian and seize his treasure. Although he initially held the advantage as a two-star Dou Master, Xiao Tian used a Di-tier Dou Technique to injure and defeat him 157 158 160. Xiao Tian later killed Mu She after learning that a Xuan-tier cultivation technique was stored at the group's headquarters 164 165.

Gan Mu, the Second Commander, was subsequently confronted while harassing Ling'er. Xiao Tian defeated and killed him publicly, leaving the group without any of its three commanders after He Meng's earlier death 170 174 175.

Headquarters Assault

After returning to Qingshan Town, Xiao Tian went directly to the Wolf Head Mercenary Group headquarters to retrieve the Xuan-tier technique and eliminate the remaining threat. Mu Li responded by sealing the gates and ordering the assembled mercenaries to surround him 175 176.

The remaining members attacked Xiao Tian in numbers, but his ice-blue longsword and medicinal powder quickly incapacitated several attackers. The confrontation devastated the headquarters courtyard, which later lay in ruins 177 179 185.
