Central City, Central District, Police Headquarters Building, seventh floor.
Director Mark's office was filled with the rich aroma of coffee. Between the case files piled on both sides of the desk, Director Mark's plump face peered out through the gap.
"Alex, the emergence of a superhero in Central City did not surprise me. After studying the common traits of all kinds of superheroes in other cities, I had expected Central City to produce a superhero of its own."
Behind the gold-rimmed glasses perched on his fleshy nose, Director Mark's eyes held a brown, focused intelligence. He adjusted his glasses with one hand and said, "But he made far too much of an entrance, showing up at night with loudspeakers blaring."
"I understand. I'll deal with him." Alex sat across from Director Mark with one leg crossed over the other, nodding. In his hands were the Central City Police Department's files on the Central City hero: expert evaluations, every piece of physical evidence left at the scenes, and the lab results.
The files piled on both sides of Director Mark's desk were all analyses of Central City's superhero.
"No, Alex, not deal with him. I need you to contact him..." Director Mark folded his hands beneath his nose and fixed Alex with a deep gaze.
Alex stopped flipping through the files and looked up at Mark.
What was this?
He wanted to support Central City's superhero?
"Here are the records of every gang member he has killed. Every one of them was a repeat offender, utterly wicked. He did not kill a single innocent person. He is doing the right thing, and Lower City has been gradually improving since his appearance. That is an undeniable fact."
"The only problem is that he kills too freely. Too many deaths, too much impact."
