Background / History

Chen Xuan awakens in the body of another man bearing the same name, a Guiyuan Sect outer disciple. The original Chen Xuan had survived the destruction of his village by bandits three years earlier and entered the sect with other survivors, including his paternal cousin Chen Shitou. Unable to advance beyond the Fifth Stage of Body Tempering, the original owner died while recklessly forcing a breakthrough. 1

Upon awakening, Chen receives the Fate System and chooses the Golden Fate Zhaoxi Bizheng over the slower-growing Late Bloomer Fate. Zhaoxi Bizheng grants cultivation progress at sunrise and sunset, giving him a means to escape the imminent danger of an external assignment. 1 2

He is assigned to Lianshan City in Tiannan Prefecture, a border region contested by Guiyuan Sect, Blood Fiend Devil Sect, and Ten Thousand Sword Villa. During the journey, he reaches Huajin, kills a bandit group that massacred the Liu Family caravan, and begins his posting as a Guiyuan Sect garrison disciple. 3 4 5 6

He is pragmatic in battle and can be ruthless toward hostile opponents, especially those who deceive him or threaten his allies. He kills bandits, gang leaders, and treasure hunters without hesitation, but refuses to exploit ordinary civilians such as the Qingshi Restaurant owner. 5 9 26
