Organization

Peak system

Guiyuan Sect is centered on Guiyuan Peak, where the Sect Master resides and the sect’s central affairs are conducted. Nine additional Inner Peaks are governed by Peak Masters, making ten peaks in total. Peak Masters must have cultivated an Ultimate Art and reached the Martial Grandmaster Realm. 53

• Guiyuan Peak — Central peak; houses the main Scripture Pavilion and the Sect Master’s lineage.

Tiannan Prefecture

Tiannan Prefecture is jointly administered by Guiyuan Sect, the Blood Fiend Devil Sect, and Ten Thousand Sword Villa. The arrangement is unstable: each sect seeks sole control, and the region is marked by sectarian clashes, banditry, burned settlements, and weak law enforcement. 4

Lianshan City is divided among the three powers.

• South City is controlled by Guiyuan Sect and its affiliated forces.
• North City is controlled by the Blood Fiend Devil Sect; a Guiyuan Sect disciple entering through it risks disappearance. 5
• The city’s Guiyuan Sect station verifies dispatched disciples and coordinates local operations. 6

Because the sect lacks enough disciples to administer Lianshan City directly, Sun Tianxing established the Red Sun Gang. The gang handles patrols, gate defense, taxation, and public order while serving as Guiyuan Sect’s local enforcement arm. 6

History

Founding and early structure

Guiyuan Sect has existed for more than eight hundred years. Its founding patriarch possessed the sect’s only known Spirit Body and left behind a hereditary Sect Master lineage. 53 61

Over its history, the sect established its ten-peak system, collected Ultimate Arts and five Divine Arts, and became the governing power over seven prefectures. 4 53 54

Tiannan Prefecture crisis

Guiyuan Sect dispatched outer disciples to external posts, with assignments influenced by bribery and patronage. Chen Xuan, lacking support, was sent to Lianshan City in Tiannan Prefecture—a post with an extremely high death rate. 3

The sect maintained a station in Lianshan City and relied on the Red Sun Gang to secure its territory. However, its position in Tiannan remained constrained by the Blood Fiend Devil Sect and Ten Thousand Sword Villa. 5 6

Fenglin City campaign and internal scandal

Guiyuan Sect joined the other major powers in attacking Fenglin City’s Blood Sacrifice Array. Of the twenty-five Guiyuan Sect disciples sent into the city, only five survived. 52 54

The later blood sacrifice of Tiannan Prefecture City exposed severe internal corruption. Several Guiyuan Sect elders had secretly communicated with the Seven Kill Sect; some were planted agents from the era of the Marquis of Tiannan, while others had concealed and enabled the blood-sacrifice scheme. The deputy hall master of Neiwu Hall was among those implicated. 91

The scandal, combined with the Heavenly Demon Sect’s propaganda and attacks, undermined public trust and triggered unrest throughout the sect’s territories. 91 92

Rise of Sword Peak and Chen Xuan

Chen Xuan’s return from Tiannan Prefecture transformed the sect’s internal balance. His victories over Yang Zhan, Meng Changsheng, and Ten Thousand Sword Villa’s Wan Qingyang made him Guiyuan Sect’s acknowledged strongest younger-generation disciple. 69 96 104

Sword Peak’s prestige rose sharply as a result, while Tianxuan Peak’s previous hostility toward Chen gradually lost support. 70 96 104

Chen later won the Nine Peaks Tournament with 108,000 points after killing the Black Fiend Demon General. Guiyuan Sect publicly released the recording of his battle, revealing his perfected Five-Elements Canopy Treasure Umbrella and Five Elements Life-Death Domain. 112

Demon Venerable Seal and spiritual-qi revival

Chen Xuan uncovered the Heavenly Demon Sect’s plan to locate a Demon Venerable Seal in the Yandang Mountains. Jiang Yan brought the intelligence before the sect leadership, which then consulted the Martial Alliance and confirmed the seal’s ancient origin. 108 109

After the Heavenly Demon Sect destroyed one of the Twelve Golden Figures of the Heavenly Starlight Demon-Suppressing Formation, Cloud Province’s spiritual qi began to revive. Guiyuan Sect obtained portions of Innate Wood, Water, and Fire Origin Qi and awarded them to Chen Xuan for his intelligence contribution. 111

Heavenly Net Mountains conflict

Guiyuan Sect joined Ten Thousand Sword Villa and the Blood Fiend Devil Sect in an alliance contesting a Mid-Grade Mystic Realm against Subduing Dragon Temple. 113

During the conflict, the Blood Fiend Devil Sect withdrew under pressure from Subduing Dragon Temple, while Ten Thousand Sword Villa remained beside Guiyuan Sect. 122

Chen Xuan killed Subduing Dragon Temple’s Dao Child, Jiang Daoxuan, and annihilated hundreds of its Grandmasters. Ten Thousand Sword Villa’s decision to remain allied with Guiyuan Sect was subsequently vindicated. 125 126

Later elevation

After Chen Xuan won first place in the Hidden Dragon Ranking, Ten Thousand Sword Villa declared a permanent alliance with Guiyuan Sect. The Blood Fiend Devil Sect sent gifts in an attempt to repair relations after its earlier withdrawal. 135

Chen later returned to Guiyuan Sect after becoming a world-renowned powerhouse. He donated vast stores of Spirit Elixirs, Treasure Elixirs, Dao Elixirs, and other resources, potentially allowing the sect to rise beyond its prior six-star standing. 150

He also refined the Five Elements Mountain, a Mid-Grade Dao Artifact, and left it behind to suppress and protect Sword Peak. 150
