Background / History

Guiyuan Sect was founded more than eight hundred years ago by Founder Guiyuan, a Spirit Body bearer who cultivated a Divine Technique to great success. The sect’s long-standing foundation includes rare talent-enhancing treasures, extensive martial-art inheritances, and multiple Great Grandmaster-level Supreme Elders. 35 53 90

The sect controls seven prefectures, though Tiannan Prefecture is a contested border region jointly administered with the Blood Fiend Devil Sect and Ten Thousand Sword Villa. Rival disciples frequently fight over territory and resources there, making external postings in Tiannan exceptionally lethal. 3 4

Following the Seven Kill Sect and Heavenly Demon Sect’s expansion, Guiyuan Sect’s territories also fell into disorder. By this point, the Three Great Sects had effectively withdrawn from much of Tiannan Prefecture, while bandit activity and local warfare spread through the seven prefectures under Guiyuan Sect’s control. 92 99

Ten Inner Peaks

Guiyuan Peak serves as the sect’s central peak and is surrounded by nine inner peaks. Tianxuan Peak is historically the strongest of the nine, having won more than forty Nine Peaks Grand Competitions; Sword Peak ranks second and is renowned for its sword inheritance. 53 71

Disciple Advancement

Outer sect disciples who fail to reach Body Tempering Stage Seven within three years, or the Zhuqi Realm within five years, are sent to serve in cities under sect jurisdiction rather than continuing to receive sect resources. 1 2

Inner sect disciples are divided into two categories:

• Ordinary disciples — Unaffiliated disciples who generally reside at the foot of Guiyuan Peak. 53
• Personal disciples — Disciples accepted by elders or peak masters and attached to one of the inner peaks. 53

Advanced-study disciples may remain in the sect long-term after passing a combat assessment; they receive inner-sect benefits, an identity token, residence, and merit rewards for completing assessments. 69

Territories and Affiliates

• Lianshan City Station — Guiyuan Sect’s local station in Lianshan City, Tiannan Prefecture; it receives dispatched disciples and coordinates sect affairs in the city. 6
• Red Sun Gang — Local gang controlled by Guiyuan Sect in Lianshan City. Sect disciples stationed there hold gang positions, allowing the sect to maintain patrols and local authority. 6

Scripture Pavilion

The sect possesses five Divine Technique manuals:

• Tianhe Divine Technique — Produces exceptionally vast and forceful true qi during the Zhuqi Realm. 54
• Guiyuan Divine Technique — Converts foreign internal energy and true qi into nourishment for itself, but cannot be cultivated alongside other cultivation methods. 54
• Five Elements Divine Technique — A complete Divine Technique with methods for Divine Abilities; it requires five matching-grade elemental cultivation methods to begin. 54 55
• Taiyin Divine Technique — Cultivates yin and cold true qi through lunar essence and becomes more powerful at night. 54

Resources and Merit System

Guiyuan Sect uses merit points to distribute cultivation resources, martial arts, spiritual medicines, and rare treasures. One Great Merit equals ten minor merits. 7
