Su Youwei grew up in poverty in Great Zhou City with her ill grandfather. She saved the displaced Mu Chen and agreed to let him stay with her family; the two soon shared household work, with Mu Chen helping her draw water and complete chores 2 3.

Her grandfather’s illness placed a heavy burden on her, as even the cheapest medicine was difficult for the household to afford. Mu Chen used Ancestral Stone Spirit Liquid to cure him completely, an act that deepened Su Youwei’s gratitude and affection for him 5 6.

After two years of training alongside Mu Chen, she prepared to join Great Zhou Mansion. Her exceptional cultivation talent quickly became apparent: she opened meridians at an extraordinary speed and entered Jia Academy after the mansion’s grand examination 6 11 31.
