Everyone nodded. There was no doubt about it: Minato was just over twenty.
Torifu was already in his early fifties. Back when he was twenty, he'd liked slacking off just as much as he did now...
Come to think of it, after becoming Hokage, Torifu had only kept up appearances for a few days to keep Tobirama from nagging him.
Then he'd let himself go, using every trick in the book—Puppets, clones, you name it.
And yet this lazy, good-for-nothing Hokage had become the most accomplished Hokage in Konoha's history, surpassing even Hashirama.
It was hard to imagine any future Hokage reaching the heights Torifu had.
"All right, enough reminiscing. Weren't you all here to celebrate? Where are the presents?"
They were all close, so Torifu didn't beat around the bush. He simply held out his hand.
The others exchanged glances, thinking that the Hokage really didn't hold back.
Still, they put on cheerful smiles and brought out their gifts.
They were mostly rare items from their respective countries. Nothing was being presented directly to Konoha; it was all for Minato, things he could display at home.
Or give to his child, who would be arriving soon, to play with.
It didn't matter either way. Torifu didn't care what they'd brought, as long as they'd brought something. It was the thought that counted.
After accepting all the gifts, he thanked them warmly.
Then they started chatting about everyday matters.
But with Yuezhu there, they couldn't talk about the Land of Rain's seafood. That would make it seem like they were deliberately excluding him.
After an hour of awkward small talk, it finally came to an end. The Third Generation Kage each returned to their apartments to rest, and Torifu planned to head home too.
All that chatting with the Kage
