Divination

Adam gazed gently at Cyril, his golden eyes as clear and innocent as a baby's seeming to see straight through his soul:

"If you do not wish to become nourishment for the High-Dimensional Overseer to advance further after the barrier left behind by the Oldest One shatters, if you do not wish to lose your life and yourself, then you must gain the power to contend with Him within this short time."

"In a sense, you are fortunate. More than half of the Beyonder Characteristics, Uniquenesses, and even Sefirot in the entire universe have gathered on this planet. Even though They have been sealed away, this planet still possesses the conditions to give birth to several Great Old Ones."

"But you are also unfortunate. The uniqueness of your soul's essence makes you incompatible with most of the Beyonder Pathways on this planet. You do not have many choices."

His tone was calm, as though he were discussing something utterly insignificant, yet Cyril, as the listener, found his emotions difficult to control. At times he felt fortunate, at times tense, and at times vexed.

After hesitating for a moment, he asked the blond priest before him in a low voice, "May I ask which Pathways I can choose?"

After a pause, he added, "What price must I pay for the answer to this question? If I cannot afford it for the time being, can I put it on credit first?"

Adam smiled lightly at him. Just as Cyril thought the other man did not intend to answer his question for free, Adam suddenly spoke again:

"My understanding of those Great Old Ones in the starry sky is insufficient and incomplete."

"But you can ask yourself. Your own spirituality will not deceive you, and your status is high enough."

"Divination?" Cyril instantly understood what Adam meant, but there was one crucial problem:

"Although ordinary people can gain some revelations from their own spirituality through divination, I do not know how to divine."

Adam gently shook his head. "No, you do know how to divine, and your luck is quite good. This divination will definitely succeed."

"I don't... I understand. Thank you for your help."

Cyril cut off his denial halfway through and changed his words. He recalled a description of the Visionary in the original text: The future He proclaimed would surely unfold and become reality.

Adam, who possessed Uniqueness, had already grasped part of the Visionary's authority. In other words, what He said could become reality as well. Therefore, my next divination will definitely succeed.

With that thought, he immediately looked around for tools he could use for divination.

As for the method, he considered himself quite familiar with Klein's commonly used pendulum method, dream divination, and coin tossing.

As his gaze swept around, he saw a deck of Tarot Cards materialize before him from nothingness.

Adam smiled and nodded. "Use those. I can see that you have special feelings toward Tarot Cards."

"Silently repeat the question you wish to divine in your heart, then draw several cards from the deck."

"All right." Cyril nodded gently.

He took a deep breath, then slowly let it out. After preparing himself mentally, he silently repeated his question and quickly drew three cards from the Tarot Cards with their backs facing him.

After another round of breathing in and out, he turned the Tarot Cards over with both excitement and apprehension, facing their fronts toward himself:

"The Magician, The Lovers, and the Wheel of Fortune..."

Although I knew there were not many choices and had already prepared myself, were these choices not a little too excessive?

Whether it was the Door Pathway represented by the Magician or the Error Pathway represented by The Lovers, neither could avoid Amon, the biggest brat in this world.

A meme suddenly surfaced in his mind: Give up. Amon is everywhere in the air.

Wait, that was not what I meant. I just...

Adam interrupted his mental excuses with a light laugh. "Fearing Amon, or even loathing Him, is a normal reaction. Most people in this world who know of His existence think the same way."

"Amon was born a mythical creature and lacks sufficiently normal anchors, so His flaws in personality are inevitably magnified."

"However, I have seen His growth in your heart. That is good news, is it not? It shows that even a brat can grow up and change, though this growth cost Him a great deal."

Cyril stood where he was, his expression utterly calm, but his mind had already gone numb.

Sure enough, there were no secrets before the world's finest Spectator. But I only just reached Amon's official appearance in the second book. How did He know that Amon had already grown?

As soon as that thought stirred in his heart, Adam's voice sounded. "That is a father's understanding of his child."

After a brief pause, He continued, "I will help you keep your secret and provide you with a certain degree of concealment. In return, you must also keep some secrets for me. Do you agree?"

Cyril restrained his drifting thoughts and nodded gently. "I agree."

At that instant, Cyril sensed some sort of change, one originating deep within his soul. He seemed to see the phantom of a golden seal flash past. It was a restraint, a Notarization.

He was only slightly surprised before quickly relaxing. After all, it was power Adam had once possessed. Compared to a spectacle like the Visionary's Uniqueness, merely reenacting the power of a Sequence 6 was not worth mentioning at all.

Adam smiled and nodded at him, then raised a hand and pointed at the three Tarot Cards in Cyril's hand.

"Now then, let us return to the previous question."

"What question did you just ask your spirituality?"

"From what I know of Them, the Wheel of Fortune is not among the High-Dimensional Overseer's targets."

Cyril pursed his lips and nodded. Choosing his words carefully, he said, "I was somewhat lost, so when I drew the Tarot Cards, the question that came to mind was what I should do."

Adam nodded gently. "A reasonable question."

Then He pointed at the three Tarot Cards in Cyril's hand one by one. "The Magician, The Lovers, and the Wheel of Fortune. Their most superficial meanings are learning the art of communication, developing different relationships, changing one's Fate, and striving upward."

"If their interpretations are simply combined, it probably means to learn, to communicate, to build relationships with different people and organizations, seek cooperation and help, and continuously accumulate strength in order to change the Fate of the future."

"The question you asked was very broad. It just happened to include your confusion over the Beyonder Pathways available to you."

Cyril's eyes lit up as he understood what Adam meant. "So the revelation regarding the Beyonder Pathways I can choose is also contained within these three Tarot Cards?"

As he murmured, his gaze fell upon the first Tarot Card he had drawn:

"The upright Magician: the beginning of things, a change through action, carrying out one's own will..."

"Therefore, the Door Pathway is the most suitable for me."

As he spoke, he looked up at Adam, but no one stood before him. There was only a full-length mirror placed in the corner. The King of Angel who had answered his summons had vanished as suddenly as He had appeared.

Not only that, but his room had become neat and tidy. The candles, mirror fragments, herbal powder, ritual silver dagger, and everything else on the floor had all disappeared, as though they had never existed.

Cyril frowned and tried hard to recall what had just happened. He discovered that Adam's figure had vanished from his memories. All this time, he had merely been talking to himself in the mirror.

"How is that possible? I clearly remember it. Adam was standing right here, speaking to me so gently..."

As he spoke, he suddenly stopped. The more he recalled, the more unnatural his previous state felt. It did not seem like himself.

So, had I been hypnotized just now?

Knock! Knock!

A somewhat urgent knock suddenly sounded from downstairs. Cyril lowered his head toward the first-floor entrance. Though he could see nothing through the floorboards, he inexplicably felt that the person knocking downstairs had come for him.

Beyond the Spirit World, above the Gray Fog, deep crimson light suddenly rose within a grand and ancient palace that resembled a giant's residence. It then contracted and solidified into a hazy figure seated at the very head of a mottled long table.

Klein stared at the deep crimson star beyond the palace, constantly expanding and contracting within the boundless Gray Fog, his face filled with confusion:

"Someone is praying again. And unlike the prayer that somehow connected to the Sun before, this one is very stable and clear. More importantly, he even recited my honorific name in full. But I made that up. It was never spread anywhere."

"Could there really be a hidden existence in this world called the Fool?"

"And then He discovered that I had stolen His name and was now preparing to greet me through a believer's prayer, all the way across the internet?"
