Background
Resjing is the only son of the Sovereign of Bauhinia and a long-serving Purgatory Overseer. His mother’s status and particular favor make other Sovereigns’ descendants and their allies reluctant to kill him, even during conflicts on the Planar Battlefield. 133 142 152
Before the Planar Battlefield campaign, Resjing had already formed a friendship with the Red Lotus Overseer, Erwins. Erwins had once challenged him; the two became friends through that fight. 133
His ultimate technique, the Amethyst Space, was the basis for the principle behind Linley’s Blackstone Space. Resjing and the Bauhinia Sovereign had previously helped Linley acquire this technique. 133 148
Appearance
In human form, Resjing appears as a small, cute bald youth who habitually eats fruit. He can conceal his aura through his control over the soul, making his human identity difficult to recognize. 133 148
- True form: a small purple Amethyst beast, roughly one meter tall. 192
- Commonly carries a dark-purple Sovereign Artifact spear. 137
- His human guise conceals the aura that would identify him as Resjing. 148
Personality
Resjing is casual, blunt, and confident in battle. He quickly dismisses opponents he considers troublesome rather than wasting effort on unwinnable fights, as shown when he orders Chegewen to leave instead of pursuing a prolonged confrontation. 138 141
Despite his carefree manner, he is pragmatic about Sovereign politics. He refuses to kill figures such as Jialuo and Manshuahua when doing so could provoke intervention from their Sovereign backers. 151 152
He is notably generous toward allies he recognizes as friends. His initial arrangement with Liewen is transactional, but he later gives Liewen substantial amounts of Destruction Sovereign Power and provides Sovereign Power to protect the group from Bayer. 136 141 155
Abilities & Skills
Amethyst Space
Resjing’s signature ultimate technique manipulates gravity and affects the soul within its range. Its principles were used to develop Linley’s Blackstone Space. 133 146 148
- Can manifest as a purple halo covering an area of over a thousand meters. 148
- Restricts and disrupts enemies through gravitational force and soul pressure. 146 148
- Is less effective against opponents with specialized resistance to gravity, such as Coloid. 146
- Cannot decisively restrain prepared Commander-level opponents who scatter before the technique fully traps them. 151
Amethyst Barrier
Resjing can deploy a large-scale Amethyst Barrier through his innate divine ability. Its size makes it visible from a great distance, often warning nearby Commanders of his presence. 140
- Used to confine or hinder enemy groups. 140 151
- Its conspicuous appearance discourages many Commanders from provoking him. 140
- Has limited results against enemies who anticipate it and flee in different directions. 151
Destruction-Style Combat
Resjing cultivates the Rules of Destruction and possesses top-tier material attack power among Commanders when wielding his Sovereign Artifact spear. 130 138
- His spear strikes can tear spatial rifts in the exceptionally stable space of the Planar Battlefield. 137
- His raw offense cannot overcome Chegewen’s combined material- and soul-defense Sovereign Artifacts. 138
- Magnus, a Fate Paragon, can casually restrain Resjing’s attacks, demonstrating the gap between Commander-level power and Grand Perfection. 156
Soul Concealment
Resjing can use soul control to conceal his aura while in human form. 148
- Allows him to move without being recognized by his aura alone. 148
- His identity becomes apparent when he reveals himself or uses his distinctive abilities. 148
Equipment / Resources
- Dark-purple Sovereign Artifact spear — Resjing’s primary offensive weapon; its attacks can tear open spatial rifts. 137
- Destruction Sovereign Power — Resjing has access to an immense supply created by the Sovereign of Bauhinia. 136
- Commander Badges — Collects badges and military merits to exchange for additional Sovereign Artifacts. 136 160
- Potential second Sovereign Artifact — After the Planar Battlefield, he accumulates sufficient merits to request that his mother forge another artifact for him. 162
Relationships
- Sovereign of Bauhinia — His mother and the source of his exceptional political protection and supply of Destruction Sovereign Power. 133 136 192
- Leihong — The Bauhinia Sovereign’s strongest Emissary; Resjing’s close companion and battlefield teammate. 133 136
- Erwins — Red Lotus Overseer and old friend; their friendship began after Erwins challenged Resjing. 133 134
- Liewen Andrew — Ally recruited into Resjing’s Planar Battlefield squad; Resjing trades Destruction Sovereign Power for Liewen’s Commander Badges. 136 141
- Linley Baruch — Resjing helped him obtain the technique that became Blackstone Space; later recruits Linley into his squad. 133 151
- Bebe — Squadmate whose God-Eater ability becomes a major deterrent to enemy Commanders. 151 152
- Chegewen — A recurring rival Resjing cannot defeat due to Chegewen’s dual Sovereign Artifacts. 138 141
- Jialuo and Manshuahua — Hostile Commanders whom Resjing deliberately allows to leave to avoid Sovereign-level repercussions. 151 152
Story Role / Major Arcs
Red Lotus Overseer Challenge
Resjing and Leihong visit Erwins shortly before entering the Planar Battlefield and learn of Erwins’ impending duel with Liewen. Resjing watches the battle with interest and recognizes Liewen’s exceptional strength after Erwins is defeated. 133 134 136
Formation of Resjing’s Squad
After Liewen becomes the new Red Lotus Overseer, Resjing invites him to join a Planar Battlefield team. He offers two hundred drops of Destruction Sovereign Power for every Commander Badge Liewen provides, then leads Liewen and Leihong to Blood Mountain Prison. 136
Planar Battlefield Campaign
Resjing leads the initial three-person squad across the Star River to hunt enemy Commanders. He clashes with Chegewen, provides Liewen with four hundred drops of Sovereign Power after the acquisition of Commander Badges, and later reveals his identity during the confrontation with Benfield’s group. 137 138 141 148
Following the battle, Resjing recruits Linley and Bebe, expanding the squad to five members. He later splits the group into two smaller teams to make enemy Commanders more willing to approach. 151 152
Conflict with Paragons
When the Wind Paragon Bayer targets Bebe, Resjing stands with his squad and supplies Liewen, Linley, and Bebe with jugs of Destruction Sovereign Power, forcing Bayer to withdraw. 154 155
During Magnus’s subsequent attack, Resjing is directly targeted alongside Liewen. Magnus easily deflects Resjing’s spear attack and restrains him with a silver whip. 155 156
Return to Hell
After the Planar Battlefield concludes, Resjing has accumulated enough military merits to seek a second Sovereign Artifact directly from the Sovereign of Bauhinia. He returns to Hell with Liewen and Leihong, later reuniting with them at the Amethyst Mountain Range. 162 192
