First Appearance Chapter 267

Background

Diana was one of four witches who used Susie’s Shelter as their base before it became associated with the Golden Plains Adventurer Guild. When Susie proposed that the group level up to acquire Soul Drain, Diana suggested a more efficient alternative: converting the skill into magic knowledge scrolls so witches could learn it without the same leveling burden. The proposal was limited by the immense material and production costs of such scrolls. 267

She later developed a Temporary Departure Scroll and personally tested it at Lan Qingyou’s Witch Habitat. Its successful activation established a Shelter in the Witch Forest, allowing Diana to share the Shelter with Lan Qingyou. 297

Personality

Diana is an inquisitive researcher with a practical, strategic mind. Her curiosity is especially apparent when encountering unfamiliar magical technology, urban-development possibilities, and new forms of transportation or magic. 297 299 356

As an administrator, she favors planning, delegation, and gathering sufficient intelligence before acting. During the early stages of the invasion of the Land of Abandonment, she prioritized stability and cautioned against escalating matters before identifying the force behind the attacks. 449

The prolonged Abandoned War hardened her outlook. After months of defending the Perching Giant Tree and witnessing the losses suffered by her people, she rejected her former conciliatory approach and committed herself to retaliation against those who targeted witches. 460

Despite her usual authority, Diana relaxes around Lan Qingyou and is more openly reliant on her Patriarch’s presence. 692

Abilities & Skills

Magic Scroll Creation

Diana can convert magic into one-time-use scrolls that other people can activate.

  • Proposed producing magic knowledge scrolls for Soul Drain to reduce the leveling burden on witches. 267
  • The process requires costly materials and carries substantial production costs. 267
  • Developed and tested the Temporary Departure Scroll, which successfully created a Shelter in the Witch Forest. 297

Soul Drain

Diana learned and used Soul Drain, a spell effective against the “Undying” attribute.

  • Used the spell during Lucia’s attempted resurrection to extract a Soul Crystal from the magical phenomenon surrounding her. 454
  • Relied on Nightingale to appraise the resulting Soul Crystal. 454

Flight Potion and Flying Broom Design

Diana invented a flight potion for personal use before deciding to share its formula with other witches. 356

  • Helped turn flight cores into recognizable Flying Magic Brooms for the High Tower Witches. 356
  • Favored standardized broom designs so that witches flying on brooms would become a recognizable symbol of the High Tower Clan. 356
  • Treated flight as a practical contingency measure as well as a matter of appearance and clan image. 356

Administration and Strategic Planning

Diana is the Witch Race’s principal organizer and administrator.

  • Designed the initial development plan for the Land of Abandonment, including the Witch Academy, residential and commercial districts, Abandoned Ruins, harbor, and layered Magic Arrays. 299

Story Role / Major Arcs

Development of the Land of Abandonment

Diana drafted a comprehensive development plan for the Land of Abandonment: establish a Witch Academy, develop the Abandoned Ruins and coast, recruit students, organize districts, and expand the Witch Forest through layered Magic Arrays. Lan Qingyou entrusted her with city planning, reconstruction, and harbor affairs. 299

She formalized Typhon’s administration by nominating department heads and founding the Patrol Squad to address high-level monsters and outside disturbances. She also secured Lan Qingyou’s appointment as the Witch Academy’s honorary principal and requested introductory textbooks on alchemy, pharmacology, and Magic Puppet production. 313 314

Typhon and High Tower Expansion

Diana helped name the Witch Race’s capital, proposing symbols associated with monsters and destruction before Lan Qingyou chose the name Typhon. The World Will subsequently recognized it as the first official city on the Karim Continent. 314

She organized the large-scale Typhon auction, used it to attract smaller tribes, and managed the resulting increase in trade and population. 321 347

Witch Hunts and the Abandoned War

After receiving reports that witches were being hunted for their blood, Diana convened the administrators, ordered scattered witches not to travel alone, directed the Witch Corps to strengthen defenses, and sought Lilith’s assistance in analyzing witch blood. 444 445

When the Feathered Race and Little People Race invaded, Diana ordered witches to gather at the Central Habitat or nearby Shelters, prohibited contact with unevolved Transmigrators, and initiated measures to secure or destroy valuable resources rather than let them fall into enemy hands. 449

The struggle for the Perching Giant Tree lasted eight months. Once the invaders abruptly withdrew, Diana ordered their abandoned corpses burned and began organizing a retaliatory sweep to identify every participant and recover information on stolen Magic Eyes. 460

Counterattack and Recovery

Diana continued coordinating the Witch Race’s retaliation after the war, adopting a policy of locating and eliminating invaders and traitors regardless of who might stand behind them. 472

She received and organized research data on resurrection magic, including theory, clinical records, and post-operation observations, for Lan Qingyou’s review. 472

When Lan Qingyou learned that Demon Hunters used Magic Eyes taken from fallen witches, Diana vowed to recover the dead witches’ remains and supported plans to retaliate through curse magic and the mass production of Magic Books. 486 488

Eureka and the New Continent

As Chief Executive of Flying City Eureka, Diana managed the city’s early operational issues, including cases of magic intoxication caused by its high-altitude magic concentration. 513

During Lan Qingyou’s century-long disappearance, Diana directed the Black Witches’ migration toward the New Continent in order to search for their missing Patriarch. She also arranged for orphans and slaves from Storm Island to be brought back and cultivated as witches. 1074 1076

After Lan Qingyou returned, Diana was entrusted with managing the public response to Eureka’s transformation into a Pure Magic Zone following the activation of Lan Qingyou’s level-ten Shelter. 1079

Notable Quotes

“Burn them.” 460

“Take revenge, of course. I want the whole world to know that the Witch Race is not to be trifled with.” 460

Trivia
