Background / History

The Golden Dragon King originated as the half of the Dragon God that inherited the latter’s physical might. During the Dragon God’s war against the God Realm, the Dragon God fought the five God Kings before Asura split him with the Asura Sword. The divided being became the Golden Dragon King and Silver Dragon King: the Golden Dragon King received the Dragon God’s strength, defense, speed, and other bodily attributes, while the Silver Dragon King inherited elemental control. Near death, the Golden Dragon King became an indestructible Dragon Cocoon and was sealed in the Forbidden God Land. 144 149

Qian Xun'an and Gu Yuena later sought the seal in the Tower of Forbidden Gods. After defeating the Tower Spirit, they caused the Forbidden God Land to collapse, allowing the Golden Dragon King to emerge. He immediately attacked Gu Yuena, but her seven-colored dragon might temporarily subdued him long enough for them to speak. 148 149

Gu Yuena proposed that they use their reunited power to protect Spirit Beasts and preserve the Dragon Clan. The Golden Dragon King rejected peaceful coexistence, declaring his intention to reclaim the Dragon Clan’s glory by ruling the God Realm. He fought Gu Yuena for control of their fusion, restrained her with blue-gold rings, and absorbed her into his body. 149 150

After attaining the God King realm, he challenged Qian Xun'an, but Qian severely injured him with the God Slayer Spear and silver-white flames that invaded his Dragon Core and Dragon Vein. The Golden Dragon King escaped by detonating his body into light and using the resulting force to flee. 151

He later returned to confront Asura and Destruction, seeking revenge against Asura for the ancient sealing. After drawing upon the Silver Dragon King’s power, he declared himself the reborn Dragon God and gained the upper hand over Asura. The Golden Dragon King is arrogant, domineering, and deeply hostile toward the God Realm. His long imprisonment leaves him driven by hatred, particularly toward Asura, whom he recognizes as the god responsible for splitting and sealing him. 149 153

He rejects Gu Yuena’s goal of protecting Spirit Beasts through coexistence. Instead, he seeks conquest, demands submission from Qian Xun'an, and considers force the proper means to restore Dragon Clan supremacy. 149 150
