Dokuho Kouya arrived at the library.
The Advanced Nurturing High School library was enormous, probably big enough to fit an entire year group.
After searching for quite a while, Dokuho Kouya finally found the Class A students.
"Welcome to the study session, Kouya."
Honami Ichinose, the class representative, clapped lightly, her eyes curving into lovely crescents. "Everyone in class was really happy to hear you were willing to join us."
"That's quite an honor." Dokuho Kouya smiled.
After turning down the seniors' requests to keep helping the Shogi Club and the Chess Club, he had plenty of free time.
So when Mako Amikura invited him to join the study session, he agreed.
It wasn't because he couldn't bring himself to refuse a girl's invitation.
He just knew that Class D students often held study sessions in the library too, and wondered if he could catch a glimpse of the plot.
"Kouya's grades are excellent, so you'll be playing the role of a tutor during the study session."
Honami led Dokuho over to a table, where two girls were studying.
His classmates Chihiro Shiranami and Kozue Minami.
Neither of them was good at studying, but Chihiro also struggled with socializing, while Kozue excelled at sports and making friends.
"Chihiro and Kozue are both good girls, so they shouldn't give you too much trouble," Honami said with a smile.
"As long as they don't mind having me tutor them."
"How could they? I'm sure they'll be happy."
Honami went over to the girls and quietly said a few words. The two girls raised their eyebrows slightly, then nodded.
Even without listening, he could guess what they were talking about.
Honami probably wanted them to accept Dokuho's help, and neither girl had any objections.
Chihiro Shiranami's quick agreement surprised Dokuho.
As he remembered her, she seemed to have a crush on Honami.
Could it be that her sexual orientation was different in this world?
Dokuho wondered to himself.
While he was thinking, the pink-haired girl returned and smiled warmly. "Kouya, I've talked to Chihiro and Kozue. I'll leave it to you from here."
Dokuho nodded slightly. "Thanks for the effort."
Tutoring Chihiro and Kozue turned out to be easier than he'd expected.
Neither girl had particularly good grades, but as Honami had said, they were both well-behaved and didn't cause trouble.
Whenever they came across a problem they didn't understand, they listened humbly and patiently as Dokuho explained it.
"You're really impressive, Kouya."
Kozue raised her eyebrows slightly. "It's one thing to get good grades, but you're great at teaching too. You could apply for a teaching job right now!"
"I still have a long way to go," Dokuho said modestly.
Students from the White Room reportedly studied high school material while they were still children.
Ayanokouji Kiyotaka, the White Room's greatest masterpiece, was even well-versed in educational psychology. In the original story, he helped the students around him grow in all sorts of ways.
Back when he'd read the books in his previous life, he hadn't paid much attention to that part.
But now that he was in the same world as the White Room's students, he realized just how lacking he was.
Though he was already a match for the monsters raised by the White Room in both chess and physical strength,
there was still a huge gap between them in other areas.
That was why he had made boosting his popularity his top priority.
Compared to graduating from Class A and getting a good job, strengthening himself through the system was more beneficial.
The "God on the Chessboard" he'd gotten from the System Store alone was enough to put Dokuho at the pinnacle of professional chess.
He could live comfortably for the rest of his life, and it wouldn't matter if he didn't graduate from Class A.
What was more, he'd also obtained the Kyogoku Makoto Body. With sheer strength alone, he could achieve incredible things.
As long as he stayed at this school and increased his popularity through his appearances on camera, Dokuho could become even more capable.

"You guys are hopeless!"
Just then, an annoyed girl's voice rang out nearby.
A black-haired girl furrowed her brows and glared at the boys seated around the table.
"You're in high school, yet you still don't understand elementary school material."
"Have you even studied before?"
Horikita Suzune criticized them sternly. She was practically calling them elementary schoolers to their faces.
"What's it to you whether I've studied or not?!"
The red-haired boy slammed the table angrily.
"You're just a woman. What are you acting so high and mighty for?" After slamming the table, Ken Sudō shoved his hands into his pockets, turned around, and prepared to leave.
"Sudō, are you refusing to take part in the study session?"
"Yeah. I don't need a bitch like you teaching me!"
After making his angry declaration, Sudō sauntered away from the study area.
Then Kanji Ike and Yamauchi Haruki, who were also taking part in the study session, stood up.
"We can't take Horikita's attitude anymore either."
"We'll study on our own."
Kanji and Yamauchi had had enough of Horikita's cold remarks. Seeing someone else take the lead, they followed him out.
"I hope you don't regret this someday."
Horikita Suzune was angry too, and made no attempt to stop her classmates from leaving.
The first study session she'd organized had ended in failure.
"Those guys are idiots. A sharp-tongued beauty's tutoring them for free, and they still complain? Are they even human?"
"Sudō's such a loser. He can't even understand stuff elementary schoolers know~"
"So the claim that Class D is full of defective products wasn't wrong after all. They'll be expelled if they fail, and they still need someone to nag them to study."
"Don't worry about that. The passing mark at this school is half the average score, so you can pass with just over 30 points."
"If it were me, I could probably pass after studying for just one week."
The anime was airing this very scene, and the viewers' comments were coming in fast.
The next moment, the camera cut to Dokuho.

Seeing that Chihiro Shiranami and Kozue Minami, two unfamiliar faces, were with Dokuho, the viewers' comments veered off topic.
"That red-haired boy... said something so awful," Chihiro said timidly.
She was a girl.
When she heard Ken Sudō say that Horikita was "just a woman,"
it hurt her too.
It felt as if he were talking about her.
"That really was awful," Kozue said with a nod, then added in relief, "I'm glad we ended up in this class."
Everyone in their class was kind. Even when disagreements came up, they were usually just minor squabbles.
No one had ever said something so blatantly sexist like Sudō had.
"Huh? Kouya, where are you going?"
Noticing the boy beside her get up, Kozue asked in confusion.
"I'm going to comfort Suzune." Dokuho gave her a lighthearted explanation.
A chance to boost his popularity had arrived.
