Yes. After Xiao Zao woke from its slumber, it discovered that its body had shrunk.
Its tentacles, which had once been as thick as a thigh, were now only as thin as a baby's arm, and they were still shrinking.
By the time Thor arrived, they had already shrunk to the size of an ordinary person's fingers.
And for some reason, Xiao Zao seemed to have a habit of sleepwalking. In any case, when it woke up, it was already tangled into a knot—the kind that couldn't be straightened no matter what.
Xiao Zao tried hard to untangle itself, but the more it wriggled around, the tighter the knot became. Its whole body, except for the small part sticking out, had wound itself into a ball.
Thor poked at Xiao Zao's ball, then shook his head. "Forget it. Just stay like that for now. Once your body has fully stabilized, you should be able to untangle yourself."
If it still couldn't manage in the end, Thor could always cut Xiao Zao apart.
Sometimes you had to break things before you could rebuild them. Once it was all cut apart, he could just put it back together!
Thinking about it as a joke, Thor patted Xiao Zao's head. "I came to see how you were doing. You've recovered pretty well. Keep resting for a while, and in about a year or so, you should be able to continue—"
Thor didn't finish, because Xiao Zao, ball and all, suddenly sprang up like a carp leaping over a dragon's gate and landed on his face, plastering itself all over him.
Thor pulled Xiao Zao off his face. Its new body was quite sticky, and as he peeled it away, it made a ripping sound.
Looking closer, he realized it wasn't sticky at all.
