"Keli, why don't we just go tell Gorsa about this in person? Will he believe us if all we do is pass him a little note?" Shaya asked, leaning against the Great Tree.
Shaya was in a strange state. Brown branches covered his body, stretching to the Great Tree behind him and down into the soil beneath him.
He looked as if he were a Puppet with a hundred strings attached to him.
But in truth, these roots weren't controlling Shaya. If anything, he was the one controlling them.
Keli was hiding behind a rock. They couldn't see Gorsa from where they were, and under normal circumstances, he wouldn't be able to see them in the dense forest either. Even so, she was taking care to stay out of sight.
"There's more than one faction watching Tower Master Gorsa, both openly and in secret. If we appear in front of him, we could easily give away our intentions. So we can't show ourselves. We'll just have to find a way to alert him with an anomaly, then rescue Grand Duke Kira amid the confusion. That's the most important task we have here."

For some reason, Shaya couldn't help thinking that Keli was only explaining so much to hide the fact that she was afraid of Gorsa.
"Is all this really necessary?" Shaya used the treetop of the Great Tree he was connected to as a vantage point to observe Gorsa in the distance.
He had heard Gorsa's name back when he was still a living Tier 1 Wizard, but he had never actually met the man. Now that he was watching him from afar...
