In the dim room, Kismet looked down at the mirror in his palm.
The mirror had suddenly turned white, making it impossible for him to see what was inside. But Kismet wasn't in a hurry. He continued waiting quietly.
After a while, Thor's figure appeared in the mirror again.
A somewhat indistinct voice drifted out of the mirror at the same time.
"This bug is definitely no simple matter. It's been around for so many years, yet the Star Gate Council never discovered it... Could something be wrong inside the Council, too?"
Kismet's lips curled. "Little Brother Master noticed the problem so quickly?"
Someone entered just then. Kismet flicked a finger, and the mirror slipped into the skin of his wrist and disappeared.
"Has Thor reached Tier 4?" Douglas stood in the middle of the room, with more than a hundred palm-sized Ophelias hopping along behind him.
Kismet turned around as if nothing had happened. Looking at the Ophelias following Douglas like bugs, he felt disgusted and frowned without bothering to hide it.
"His strength should be enough for advancement, but he may not have prepared the advancement ritual yet, so we'll have to wait a little longer."
Douglas nodded. "No rush. You can tell he's ambitious, too. He certainly won't be content to set his limit at Tier 4 Wizard. Good. I like that."
Douglas walked over to the window and pulled back the curtain to look outside.
With his Tier 5 strength, he could have seen everything outside without opening the curtain, but he seemed to enjoy doing things himself.
In the years since Kismet and Ophelia had summoned him, he had often acted like an ordinary person. He even ate a meal every day.
The house they were staying in was in the Olga Duchy, on the
