Background / History

Ye Qing arrived in the Star Dou Great Forest in the body of a demonic beast. His innate pressure drove weaker soul beasts away before he understood its effect, while his physiology rendered even Xiangliu’s deadly poison harmless to him 1.

After a heavenly tribulation, Ye Qing used Dragon God energy to help replenish Di Tian and Bi Ji. Even a small portion of his retained energy granted each of them one hundred thousand years of cultivation, establishing the scale of his power within the forest 4.

Despite possessing seven-hundred-thousand-year cultivation, he chose to build a refined mountainside castle by hand and furnish it himself. The project gave him purpose, but his human soul struggled with prolonged isolation; he often spoke to himself while working 8.

Xiao Qing’s emergence from an energy cocoon ended much of that solitude. Ye Qing named her, trained her, and gradually formed a household that expanded to include A Rou, Xiao Wu, Xiong Jun, and later soul beasts from the Extreme North 9 15 17 20 36.

He eventually attained human form through painful memory fusion, celebrating the transformation with Xiao Qing, Di Tian, Bi Ji, and Xiong Jun 26. His later travels brought him to the Extreme North, where Xue Di and Bing Di joined him, and ultimately into conflicts involving gods, dragons, abyssal creatures, and other worlds 27 31 55 249 301.

Appearance

Ye Qing’s original form is a small Hou resembling a rabbit when his claws and fangs are not apparent. His size is unusually small for his cultivation, a fact Bing Di openly mocks 19 32.

He is disciplined to an extreme degree, habitually rising at 4:00 AM and extending his routines to those around him to earn Self-Discipline Points 16 20. He can be emotionally awkward, particularly regarding Xiao Qing’s feelings and the existence of his system, but he attempts to address misunderstandings directly 19.

As his influence grows, Ye Qing becomes a pragmatic strategist. He favors binding agreements, incentives, intimidation, and long-term social change over indiscriminate slaughter, seeking coexistence between humans and soul beasts rather than the extermination of either race 76 102 111.
