History

Founding and the Star Crown Xu Clan

A thousand years before the present era, Star Luo was a kingdom whose declining royal house relied on the Dai Family as its military leadership. The strongest figure in the kingdom was instead the ancestor of the Star Crown Xu Family, a close associate of the Dai ancestor. 240 532

During a decisive war against a rival state, the Xu ancestor used Star Power to bombard the enemy camp with starlight and meteors, breaking its morale after two days and nights of stalemate. Star Luo won, unified the south, and became an empire. 532

The Xu Family’s prestige after the war eclipsed that of the Dai Family. To avoid a struggle for the throne, the Xu ancestor withdrew his entire family into seclusion. The Dai dynasty subsequently diminished the family’s public legacy; the Xu Family’s role in the founding war survived only in imperial secret records and Xu inheritance. 240 532

Dai–Zhu Rule

The Dai and Zhu families became bound by marriage after the discovery of the Hell White Tiger Martial Soul Fusion Skill. Dai princes and Zhu daughters were paired as successors, with the victorious pair taking the throne and the defeated side facing imprisonment, elimination, or dependence on the winner’s mercy. 77 228 353

This open and brutal succession system concentrated imperial authority. Rather than allowing princes to form long-term court factions, Star Luo forced them into direct competition from childhood, repeatedly producing a single dominant heir. 533

Under Emperor Dai Qingkun, the throne intensified its centralization efforts. He moved against powerful noble families, retained firm control over military command, and sought to turn Star Luo into “a single iron plate” capable of eventually challenging Heaven Dou for continental supremacy. 109 291

Dai Qingkun’s Reforms

Dai Qingkun’s policies brought a period of rapid development in which the public and merchants generally prospered. Slave traders, however, suffered under the changing policies and attacks on their trade. 135

Star Luo’s social order still distinguished protected registered citizens from paupers, a lower-status population descended from peoples of annexed states. This class emerged as a compromise after a previous emperor failed to abolish slavery against noble opposition. 143

An assassination attempt and an unexplained strike that destroyed part of Star Luo City’s wall left Dai Qingkun with a permanently weakened left arm. The incidents remained unsolved at the time, though later chronicles linked them to the forces behind Zhu Qinluo’s eventual coup. 135

Heavenly Demon Coup

Zhu Qinluo spent years building influence inside Star Luo through the Wan and Fang families, the Wan-Fang Chamber of Commerce, covert contracts, and the Zhu Family’s Nether Guard. The Wan Family’s intelligence network and court connections became especially important to the operation. 112 227 291

The Heavenly Demon Sect infiltrated the imperial palace before the coup. Xue You obtained a palace position, planted Other Shore Flower seeds throughout the complex, and used the resulting black mist to help neutralize guards and isolate the palace. 534

When the operation began, Wan Family forces opened the palace gates while elite forces entered from outside. Zhu Qinluo revealed herself as the Heavenly Demon’s true leader, seized the palace, and captured Dai Qingkun. 534

The Star Crown Xu Clan supported Zhu Qinluo’s takeover by declaring its stance and preventing royal reinforcements from reaching the palace. Xu Ling’s involvement, alongside the Zhu Family’s legitimacy as Star Luo’s traditional empress family, significantly weakened resistance. 538 563

Dai Qingkun, Zhu Qinwu, and the Dai ancestor escaped through an emergency shelter originally constructed to guard against a possible conflict with the Xu Family. 538
