Tang San retains memories and skills from a previous life in the Tang Sect, where he accepted assassination and poisoning assignments. His familiarity with concealed weapons, poison arts, and cautious combat behavior originates from that life 334 432.

He is the son of Tang Hao and Ah Yin, the Blue Silver Emperor. Ah Yin's sacrifice awakened part of Tang San's Blue Silver Emperor bloodline, allowing his Blue Silver Grass to develop beyond an ordinary plant Martial Soul; however, his Clear Sky Hammer bloodline caused conflict between his twin Martial Souls 403.

Under Yu Xiaogang's guidance, Tang San entered the Soul Hunting Forest and absorbed a Mandala Snake Spirit Ring. He defended his unconscious teacher and challenged Xiao Wu after she insulted Luo Sanpao's spirit skill, though Xiao Wu easily defeated him using her innate Soft Bone Rabbit physiology 334 335.

His Blue Silver Emperor underwent a second awakening during the academy tournament. The awakening altered his appearance, vastly improved the vitality and scale of his Blue Silver Grass, and let him form a defensive field that resembled a domain. Xue You nevertheless defeated him through superior control, pollen, and ice-based attacks 431 432.

After the tournament, Tang Hao trained Tang San in Clear Sky Sect hammer techniques for over a year. Tang San later sought recognition from the Clear Sky Sect, accepted its elders' conditions for restoring his family’s standing, and ultimately inherited Tang Chen's Chief Elder token 513 540 598 604.

Tang San established the Tang Sect with the Strength Clan's backing and recruited blacksmiths. The Strength and Defense Clans joined his organization, while his attempt to recruit Yang Wudi's Breaking Clan initially failed after Tang San lost their duel 541 546 547.

On Sea God Island, Tang San received the unprecedented Nine Sea God Trials and the trident mark. Bo Saixi later used her life force to begin his final Sea God inheritance 583 598.

During the war at Jialing Pass, Tang San fought Qian Renxue and Bibi Dong.
