"Dr. Wells, I haven't been reckless. There are just things I have to do, and can do. There were over a dozen lives just now, even children. If I hadn't saved them, their lives would have been lost. Did they have to die?"

Barry spoke sternly. He had always believed he had done the right thing—what he should have done.

Dr. Wells smiled. "Barry, know your limits."

Caitlin held a file and slammed it down onto the computer desk. Pointing at Barry, she snapped, "Don't expect me to patch you up every time you wreck your body."

After saying that, Caitlin turned and left the main control room.

Caitlin had finally figured out why Barry had kept suffering fractures and injuries all over his body these past few days. Every time, Barry had brushed it off by saying he wasn't proficient with his abilities yet. It was not until she accidentally ran into them during an operation today that she learned what was really going on.

What angered her was not that Barry had gone out to save people and do good deeds. She was angry that Barry never cared for his own body and never told her. If she had been there all along, monitoring Barry's physical condition, she could at least have treated his injuries properly whenever they happened. But the way the men seemed to have formed their own separate front made her deeply unhappy, as though they were excluding her.

The men exchanged glances. Wells apologized to Barry and Lin Li. "Ever since the Particle Accelerator explosion, Caitlin has suffered severe psychological trauma. Please don't take it to heart."

Barry frowned in confusion. "The Particle Accelerator explosion caused her psychological trauma?"

Cisco gave a bitter smile. "That's something she should tell you herself. We all hope she can step out of that shadow."

Dr. Wells suddenly said to Lin Li, "Lin Li, please go check on Caitlin."

Lin Li, who had been standing off to the side, looked as though he had suddenly woken up. I was watching the show just fine. Why drag me into this? He did not quite understand.

Lin Li asked, "What? Why me?"

He was thoroughly puzzled. Barry should definitely be the one to handle something like this. In the show, Barry and Cisco had been the ones to help Caitlin walk out of the shadows. There was no reason for him to go now. He did not even know how to comfort girls; even when it came to girlfriends, the other party had always pursued him first.

"Because you and Caitlin have been getting along better lately, and she doesn't look so cold around you anymore."

With a grin, Cisco pushed at Lin Li's back, trying to shove him out of the main control room. To his surprise, after several pushes, Lin Li did not budge an inch. In the end, Lin Li rolled his eyes helplessly and took the initiative to leave the control room, heading after Caitlin.

"Fine."

Though they said Caitlin and Lin Li had been getting along better lately, their conversations had only involved biology and Lin Li's body. Suddenly changing the subject to comfort a woman who had lost her fiancé left him feeling troubled.

After passing through several research rooms, he found Caitlin in surgery.

The surgery room had originally been used to study biological particle reactions. Since the Particle Accelerator explosion, Lin Li and Barry had become its two patients, and it had gradually been converted into something resembling an operating room.

Lin Li scratched his head, not knowing where to begin.

"Lin Li, what is it?"

She still wore that unsmiling expression. This was what Cisco called less cold-faced? Lin Li seriously suspected something was wrong with Cisco's eyes.

Lin Li decided it would be better to just ask honestly. As for comforting her, Barry would be better suited for that.

"Are you angry? About what happened just now? Or because we carried out the operation without telling you?"

"No. No one can stop you from doing whatever you like."

Caitlin spoke with an icy expression. Any normal man would have noticed the hidden anger beneath her words. At a time like this, all a man had to do was lower his head, honestly admit his mistake, and promise all kinds of unequal terms to a woman, and her anger could be soothed.

But Lin Li was not a normal man.

With a relieved expression, he said, "So you're not angry. That's great."

Lin Li fell silent, on the verge of tears. He took a deep breath. Women were really hard to understand!

The scene returned to the main control room.

Not long after Lin Li left, Dr. Wells asked Cisco and Barry, "What did you do just now?"

The two recounted the entire process in full detail.

At the end, Barry did not forget to praise Cisco and Lin Li. "Lin Li and Cisco were incredible. Without their coordination and direction—and this little thing—the rescue operation today definitely wouldn't have gone so smoothly."

Barry held up the lightning emblem, full of admiration.

Dr. Wells maneuvered his wheelchair over to Barry and gestured for him to let him examine the lightning emblem.

Barry handed the lightning emblem to Dr. Wells and continued, "This biological gravitational magnet is really useful. Under high-speed oscillation, it creates a gravitational magnetic field that draws living beings toward it. Thanks to this, we were able to rescue over a dozen people so quickly today."

Cisco also praised it enthusiastically. "It's amazing. Lin Li really is a genius."

Wells carefully examined the lightning emblem and noticed a switch. He flipped it on and pointed it at Cisco.

A faint pulling force emerged from the lightning emblem.

Cisco staggered two steps forward.

He was greatly surprised. "This is incredible. My body is uncontrollably trying to fly toward that lightning emblem."

Barry smiled brightly. "Right? Even though the range is only thirty meters, it's really amazing."

Dr. Wells smiled and handed the lightning emblem back to Barry. He had figured out how it worked as well.

Dr. Wells smiled. "Very good. This is quite impressive. Barry, be careful and know your limits."

Barry was delighted that Wells had not opposed him. His idol's approval and the joy of saving lives made him beam.

"Okay, Dr. Wells. I'll be careful."

Wells smiled and left the main control room, steering his wheelchair into the corridor, where no one could see him.

Wells's expression instantly darkened. That biological gravitational magnet had definitely been designed to deal with speedsters.

The device on Barry might still be weak, but it was only a prototype. Wells guessed it was something Lin Li had made for testing. In the future, there would definitely be more powerful electromagnetic applications. It would not stop at this biological gravitational magnet.
