STAR Labs, main control room.

"What? You're saying I was struck by lightning and fell into a coma for eight months? Then who is this guy? A vortex suddenly appeared in the room that night. He fell out and landed on me, then a bolt of lightning struck both of us, and after that I fell unconscious."

Barry pointed at Lin Li and asked in astonishment.

"Are you sure he appeared from the vortex and landed on you?"

"Yes. I wasn't unconscious yet at the time, so I saw it clearly."

Barry answered firmly.

"My God, it's real!"

"This is so cool!"

Cisco and Caitlin cried out in shock.

Lin Li helplessly endured everyone pointing at him. He could not understand a word they were saying; he only knew that they were looking at him as if he were some kind of alien.

This was awful. It seemed the first thing he needed to do was learn English. His brain had already been struck by lightning, so learning English should be easier now, right?

Unable to hear what they were saying, Lin Li simply stood off to the side and watched them talk.

Then Dr. Wells took Barry away.

About half an hour passed. It was worth mentioning that during those thirty minutes, Lin Li felt that Cisco and Caitlin were like two little mice, hiding off to the side and chattering as they curiously watched and discussed him.

Dr. Wells took Barry around for a while before bringing him back to the main control room.

Lin Li heard the familiar name, Iris, and then, just like in the TV show, Barry hurriedly rushed out. He was probably going to see Iris, his childhood sweetheart.

Poor Barry. He probably still did not know Iris had a boyfriend.

After failing to stop Barry from leaving, Dr. Wells said to Lin Li, "Lin Li, you'll need to stay at STAR Labs for a while. We need to understand what's going on with your body and your world. This is all too extraordinary."

Lin Li said, "All right, Dr. Wells. I'll have to trouble you. Also, please find me some English-learning materials. It's too frustrating not being able to understand you."

After Dr. Wells smiled and agreed, he said something to Cisco and Caitlin that Lin Li could not understand.

Afterward, Caitlin walked up to Lin Li and took out a small cup...

Uh...

Perhaps sensing Caitlin's intentions, Lin Li hurriedly said, "Please, Dr. Wells, let's start tomorrow. My body is perfectly fine right now."

Dr. Wells said, "Then we'll just do a simple health check first. After all, something unusual happened to you before, and we can't be sure there's nothing wrong with your body. We'll begin the detailed examinations tomorrow."

After a simple examination of various aspects of his body, nothing seemed to be wrong.

Dr. Wells then took Lin Li to get several sets of STAR Labs-branded sportswear, briefly introduced the functions of the different rooms, and arranged a room for him to stay in. Staff had lived at STAR Labs before, so finding him a room was not difficult.

The room was quite small, with a bed and a display screen opposite it.

Two hours later, Cisco knocked on his door with a curious expression and handed him a tablet. Pointing at an icon on the screen, he indicated an English-Chinese translation course.

"Thank you."

He still knew how to say thank you in English.

After seeing off Cisco, whose eyes had practically been shining, Lin Li closed the door.

Lin Li sat on the bed and wirelessly connected the tablet to the large display in his room. Everything had Chinese labels, so he did not need to worry about not knowing how to use it.

When you focused wholeheartedly on one thing, time seemed to pass especially quickly.

The hardest part of learning English was actually memorizing the enormous number of words; grammar was secondary. For Lin Li, that was a piece of cake, because he already had a photographic memory.

He did not have Barry's lightning-fast speed of flipping through a book and learning it, but could you believe he finished learning a foreign language in twenty minutes?

Lin Li could not believe it either, so to verify it, he learned French, Russian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, and German as well.

In the end, he could proudly say that he had become a master of multiple languages.

Meanwhile, after The Flash, Barry, left STAR Labs, he went to the café but did not find Iris, so he planned to return to the Central City Police Department.

Unfortunately, he ran into Iris and Eddie kissing on the way. The moment he saw them, Barry's feelings became complicated, and his heart felt sour.

Eventually, Iris noticed Barry too. Naturally, she was delighted. After sending Eddie away, she went for a walk with Barry.

When Barry learned that, because he had been in a coma, Eddie had taken Joe's place visiting him, and that was how he and Iris had gotten together—

Barry felt so wronged that he almost cried.

If only I hadn't fallen into a coma...

That evening, Joe and Iris cooked a huge meal to celebrate Barry's recovery.

Lin Li did not sleep the entire night, nor did he spend all night studying languages. After learning around a dozen of them, he stopped and browsed the news. There, he found some very interesting reports and discovered Green Arrow.

He had never watched Green Arrow, but he knew it was a very popular TV series. The Flash was even a spin-off of Green Arrow, and the two shows often crossed over.

After reading the news for a while, he remembered his ability. His ability was to control electricity. While that was not bad, Lin Li was still rather disappointed. He could sense that the energy in his mind was the Speed Force, wrapping around his brain, but he could not tell what effect it had on his brain. In other words, Lin Li's photographic memory and active thinking had nothing to do with this mass of Speed Force. Moreover, it could produce some unknown changes with Barry's Speed Force, which worried him somewhat.

At around nine in the morning, Caitlin knocked on his door.

"Mr. Lin Li, Cisco and I will help examine your body today. Please cooperate with us later."

Caitlin held up her phone, which had an English-Chinese translation app open, and showed it to Lin Li.

Lin Li smiled and said, "Caitlin, you don't need to do that. I can speak English."

His accent was a little strange, but anyone learning a foreign language sounded like that. That was not the important part.

"You can speak English?"

Caitlin asked suspiciously. Yesterday, he had clearly looked like he could not speak it at all.

Lin Li pointed at his head. "This part was struck by lightning eight months ago. It developed my brain, improved my intelligence and thinking ability. Now, I'm even smarter than Albert."

His English was flawless.

Caitlin's eyes widened in shock. Just yesterday, Lin Li had only been able to say simple English phrases like thank you and hello. Yet after only one night of studying, he had learned an entire foreign language. What kind of learning speed was that? It was unbelievable. Were people from other worlds all this intelligent?

After recovering from her surprise, as a bioengineering expert, she became extremely interested in examining him.

"Mr. Lin Li, I think I'd like to examine your brain first."

Lin Li readily accepted. He also wanted to understand his own body.

"Of course. Just call me Lin Li."
