Background
Han Zhangxiang was born when the Han Clan had only a few Foundation Establishment cultivators. As the older generation died off, he inherited the burden of preserving the clan through repeated crises. He was once poisoned by a potent toxin whose lingering effects could not initially be removed; Han Changming and the younger generation later helped eliminate it. 1021
He preserves and conveys the clan's history. The Han Clan once ranked among the South Sea's three great cultivation families, with ten Nascent Soul cultivators, more than a hundred Golden Core cultivators, over one hundred thousand cultivators, secret realms, and spirit-stone mines. Their branch specialized in puppet crafting and artifact refinement under Thousand Puppet Hall before successive calamities forced it to seek refuge in the East Sea. 452
Personality
Han Zhangxiang is deliberate, cautious, and strongly opposed to gambling the clan's future on uncertain gains. When Han Changying found a map that might lead to an ancient cave abode, he refused to bring her along, explaining that a trap could set the newly established Outer Sea branch back by decades while success would not make it rich overnight. 408
His caution does not make him passive. He plans years ahead, prepares the clan's pill- and talisman-making capacity for a possible war, conceals vital information when necessary, and uses trade, alliances, and deterrence to secure resources without exposing the clan to needless danger. 111 140 403
As an elder, he is stern but invested in his descendants' growth. He personally teaches promising artifact refiners, reprimands careless juniors, delegates practical responsibilities to temper the younger generation, and judges clan interests above personal sentiment. 471 580 583 600
