Background

Ye Guyi was protected by the Pingfan Alliance until her Angel Martial Soul drew the attention of Evil Soul Masters. Their attack destroyed her second home, and Jiang Heng intervened to kill the attackers and offer her survival, strength, and revenge in exchange for following him. With Shangguan Weier's approval, Ye Guyi left the alliance with Jiang Heng for the Sun Moon Empire. 19

She chose to remain at the Sun Moon Imperial Soul Engineering Academy to cultivate, vowing to kill every Evil Soul Master in the world. Jiang Heng became her guide, though he had originally selected her for his own plans: her identity could provide him access to the academy, while the anomaly inside her Martial Soul made her a valuable subject of cultivation and observation. 18 21 23

The anomaly was an Angel God Godhead Fragment. It enhanced her healing and allowed her to gain cultivation from killing Evil Soul Masters, accelerating her rise from Soul Emperor to Soul Douluo. Ye Guyi is driven by conviction, perseverance, and a fierce hatred of Evil Soul Masters.
