Background / History
Wu Kuishan was a Sixth-Rank Peak martial artist and freshman mentor at Magic Martial Academy when Su Yi first considered him as a prospective teacher. Su Yi regarded him as a better choice than Li Changsheng, while believing Huang Jing would be too occupied as a Grandmaster and dean to take disciples. 6
After Su Yi broke through to Third Rank, Wu Kuishan explained the significance and dangers of that realm, then accepted him as a disciple. He also revealed the existence of the Underground Cave and the reason for the Capital Martial Arts Society's establishment. 14
Wu Kuishan later told Su Yi that his parents had been killed by Gu Qiang, the Seventh-Rank High-Stage commander of Heaven's Gate City. He urged Su Yi to pursue strength before revenge and was satisfied when Su Yi demonstrated that his desire for vengeance had not overwhelmed his judgment. 15
At Magic Martial Academy, Wu Kuishan took Su Yi and his daughter, Wu Duoduo, as his only new disciples of the semester. He introduced Wu Duoduo as Su Yi's junior sister and acknowledged that he might not have much time to personally teach either of them. 20
He entered seclusion to seek a Grandmaster breakthrough shortly after Su Yi planned his own advance to Fourth Rank. 40 Wu Kuishan successfully became a Grandmaster and Vice Dean of the Weapon Academy, attracting fellow Grandmasters to congratulate him. 60
Personality
Wu Kuishan is protective and attentive toward his disciples. He repeatedly warns Su Yi against reckless breakthroughs, excessive confidence, injuries, and entering the Underground Cave without adequate preparation. 34 61 66 81
He takes pride in Su Yi's achievements, though the disciple's unprecedented cultivation speed can leave him shocked, pressured, or briefly melancholy. Over time, that unease gives way to wholehearted pride in Su Yi's future potential. 62 76 134 157
Wu Kuishan is also protective of his daughter. He reacts defensively when other Grandmasters tease him about rumors involving Su Yi and Wu Duoduo, and he is visibly jealous when Wu Duoduo praises Su Yi more enthusiastically than him. 70 128
