"What do you want?" Professor Larry asked.

"Something we'll need right away," Hope replied.

He climbed into the carriage and tried to roll up the curtains again.

At the same time, Hope asked Professor Larry, "Can you see any other people over there in that building?"

"That's the history department building," Professor Larry said, looking over. "Nobody's there, absolutely nobody. Almost no one comes to the building at this time."

"There isn't a single particularly tall figure?" Hope asked.

"No. Maybe it was there a moment ago, but it's gone now."

Wilbur is probably already inside the teaching building.

He had tentacles growing from his abdomen and fleshy strips attached to his gums, making him look terrifying. But if he kept using his special abilities, it shouldn't be difficult for him to smoothly infiltrate "a school building."

Hope nodded happily. "That's good."

"Why do you say that? What's your relationship with him? Ah, you just asked me about Wilbur, so was that figure Wilbur just now?"

Professor Larry stopped talking and looked at Hope's actions. "Is this going?"

Hope, who was taking out the blue curtain, replied, "A piece of cloth."

"I know it's a piece of cloth, but what I want to ask is, why are you carrying it?"

Hope did not listen to Professor Larry.

He re-examined Professor Larry's attributes and then used the word "exchange" to probe once again what could be exchanged.

It has normal attributes and no magic.

Hope lifted the curtain above her head and pinched one corner of it.

With a forceful flick of his wrist, a corner of the curtain flew up.

The movements were crisp and clean, somewhere between a flag bearer throwing a flag and a folk opera performer twirling a handkerchief, a blend of solemnity and humor.

Professor Larry looked at Hope with a puzzled expression.

But his gaze was quickly drawn to the curtains hanging in the air.

The curtain swung perfectly; the rectangular fabric spread out smoothly and completely in the air, instantly obscuring Professor Larry's view.

The blue cotton fabric rippled, and moonlight and the lights from the school building shone through its edges. The cool and warm light mixed with the blue of the cotton fabric, creating a somewhat fantastical and extraordinary beauty.

Professor Larry was stunned; a flood of historical miracles and legends rushed into his mind.

As he pondered the philosophical implications that the scene before him might hold.

The curtains fell down, like a fishing net, and Professor Larry was the fish.

Professor Larry's world has been plunged into darkness.

Damn it!

Professor Larry struggled, and in the darkness, the image of Hope's sharp dagger flashed through his mind.

He finally realized what he was doing, and in a fit of terror, he unleashed a torrent of curses and warnings at Hope: "You bastard! What do you think you're doing? What do you think you're doing! This is Miskatonic University! I'm a professor here! Let me go!"

Don't get too excited.

Hope casually reassured him, not daring to do anything rash, but instead waiting to observe Professor Larry's struggle.

If Professor Larry does anything dangerous or anything else illogical happens, he will abandon the plan and immediately use the "Uncertainty" excuse to leave.

After waiting a few seconds, and seeing that Professor Larry, in his panic, still couldn't tear the huge curtain down, Hope felt slightly relieved.

He went up and hugged Professor Larry.

This movement made the curtains around Professor Larry even more secure, and it also terrified the professor even more. "Damn it! Get away from me!"

The professor struggled violently, twisting his body to the side, causing the person holding him to fall to the ground as well.

Just as he was about to do something else, the person holding him left.

But he heard footsteps, and that other people were approaching.

"What are you going to do?" Professor Larry asked.

"I am a professor at Miskatonic University!" he warned again.

He felt the man groping at his body, so he panicked and twisted his body.

Soon, other people helped hold him down, which made him even more terrified.

"Please be quiet, Professor Larry." A deep but steady voice rang out.

The familiar voice drifted into Professor Larry's ears, finally bringing him back to some composure.

He stopped struggling, and someone pulled back the curtains covering him.

After adjusting to the light for a while, Professor Larry recognized him as Professor Armitage.

The other person was Professor Rice.

Feeling somewhat embarrassed by his earlier lapse in composure, he remained silent, trying to straighten his facial muscles back to their original serious expression.

"Professor Armitage, Professor Rice, what are you doing here—"

Professor Larry asked, but he quickly realized that what they were doing wasn't the lawn they had just been on, but rather—the library?

He shook his head, trying to clear his head.

But it's still a library.

"What's going on?" he asked, bewildered.

"Some... little tricks," Professor Armitage replied. "Like the little tricks I know. I remember you said you didn't want to know too much."

Professor Larry nodded. "But I'd like to know why I was brought here."

"It's hard to explain," Professor Armitage said, "Because I don't understand what happened either—but Hope should know."

He looked back.

Professor Larry followed Professor Armitage's gaze.

Hope was now sitting next to Jack, using Jack's body to block Professor Larry's gaze from him.

But his gray hair was still too noticeable.

He noticed Professor Larry's resentful gaze.

Hope smiled apologetically.

Hope requested a private Communication with Professor Armitage, and then asked Professor Armitage to convey his reasons for doing so.

The presence of Professor Armitage between the two Communication allowed Professor Larry to calm down a bit.

Hope quickly and simply explained the reason.

Professor Armitage nodded, but offered no comment when Hope mentioned the distinguished Mr. Carl Miller's collaboration with the the Whateley family.

Jack and Professor Rice listened from the side.

After Hope finished speaking, Professor Armitage went to calm Professor Larry down, Professor Rice made a phone call, Jack remained sitting next to Hope.

"That blond professor must be terrified," Jack said. "For a long time to come, he probably won't dare go near anything similar."

"That's my problem," Hope replied.

"No." Jack shook his head. "You're right. You always have to be careful with the Miller Family."

Always be careful----

"You had suspected the Miller Family before?" Hope asked.

"Suspicion?" Jack raised an eyebrow. "It's not suspicion; we're almost certain that Carl Miller has connections to multiple cult families and organizations."

"Then why not—"

"There's no evidence," Jack said.

"I can testify."

Have you ever seen Carl Miller in person?

Hope shook her head.

"So, the so-called collusion with cult members was just something done privately by some of Carl Miller's relatives or subordinates," Jack said.

Temporary worker ---- Same worker ---- Actual ---- Dispatch ----

Several words flashed through Hope's mind in an instant.

People like Carl Miller have countless ways to do something bad and avoid taking responsibility.

Jack patted Hope on the shoulder. "It's not just Carl Miller; there are a lot of guys doing similar things. But there's nothing they can do; they have money and connections, and countless people in the government are being funded by them. The Night Hawk Union, after all, still want to be a legitimate organization."

Night Hawk Union – Hope always knew that Jack wasn't a professor at Miskatonic University, but merely collaborated with them.

This was the first time he had heard the name of the organization Jack belonged to.

Night Hawk ----
